I think he'll have a problem @ 168. He has to do too much to make the weight I think and I'm not so sold at him beïng a real star.
First I'd like to see how he does against Pascal. Remember it was Froch who beat that guy decisively on points and now is a 175 belt holder.

i've a feeling that dawson is goin to get exposed by pascal.

love how people talk up johnson and tarver on esb - quite possibly the 2 most over-rated fighters of the last 10 years, they are nothing but gate keepers.

I would love to see this happen.

Dawson will get the big fight that he needs and wants.

Dawson is a realy good fighter. He just needs to get peoples attention.

Beating the winner of the super six will do just that.

IMO Dawson could beat any of the super six fighters.

You're right, the only thing hes done is clean out light heavyweight, beat Adamek ( who went up and beat the top cruiser weights and is now a relevant heavyweight contender) and is now fighting Jean Pascal ( a dangerous and quick light heavyweight champion who you could easily make a case that he would beat anyone at super middleweight). Yeah, what has Chad done.

Well you could if you hadn't watched him get outboxed by Carl Froch at SMW.

Pascal is amazing now based on beating Diaconu (best win a narrow hometown-enhanced points victory over Chris Henry) and Branco (best win in the past five years Manny Siaca)?

So untested fighters aren't allowed to make adjustments and win rematches anymore? Pascal skill wise was not the fighter that he is today, that's why young fighters need those kinds of test that helps them improve. Plus that fight was pretty close, and Pascal forced Froch to fight backing up late.

I think Pascal would be a live underdog against anyone from 168-175 and would beat most.

Sure they are. Once Pascal has shown against a higher level of opposition that he has made those adjustments then statements like that will be much more sustainable.

Well hes losing to Dawson but i think even then, its going to be a tough fight and he could always come back and beat someone else for a title ( or maybe even go back down in weight) which he once said was not out of the question.

Dawson had fights at 175, that werent as big a fight with Calzaghe.
Kessler wasnt the man at 168, Calzaghe was.
So what if Calzaghe did or didnt offer a Pavlik a fight, he beat Hopkins who soundly beat Pavlik, but if Calzaghe did offer Pavlik the fight, why didnt Pavlik jump at the chance to leap frog over everyone and get a shot at a top undefeated fighter :patsch Still Pavlik has nothing to do with it. The point was why is Dawson now willing to come down to SMW when the premier man has long gone

At this time Dawson had done nothing to prove himself and Calzaghe would have been ridiculed for fighting him, but Dawson had time to do something in the division then to make himself an attraction, as Calzaghe was still in the division for over a year and a half after beating Lacy, giving Dawson time to make a name at SMW instead he fought at LHW, but now there is talk of him fighting at SMW, when if he was goiung to fight in that division he should have done it when there was an established main player ie Calzaghe

Of course I know where Dawson was when Calzaghe moved up, and at that time in Calzaghes career if the fight had of happend it wouldnt have been at 168. What im saying is if Dawson can fight at 168 now, why couldnt he when Calzaghe was the man at the weight. He had time to make himself a name, when Calzaghe was still there, but chose to fight at LHW. Why fight at SMW now?
Dawson could make alot of big fights at LHW ie Pascal, Erdei, Cloud and Braehmaer for example, but at SMW you only have Bute, and Butes resume isnt any stronger than the fighters at LHW mentioned. Most of the other top SMWs are tied into the super 6, and Dawson wouldnt get the deserved credit for beating Steiglitz. But if Dawson had of stayed at SMW between the time when Calzaghe beat Lacy and up to when he beat Kessler he may have been in a position to bargain for the fight, instead he fights a LHW champ who had struggled twice with P Briggs! And then nearly got stopped by G Johnson who has lost how many times. So no he wasnt a big enough name at the end of Calzaghes career but he could have stayed at SMW where he was before and forced himself into a situation to make the fight more likely, instead he fights at LHW and now the premier man is long gone there is talk he can fight at 168lbs, which means he could have all along

Dawson would beat Froch, Abraham, Green and maybe Bute and Dirrell.

But he would most likely get beat ( at 168 ) by Ward and Kessler. Maybe Dirrell and Bute could give him a fight as well. Froch is too slow for him. Abraham too small and too easy to outpoint. Green is not in their league.

At 175 its a different scenario.

I can say for sure that Adamek would never be able to make 168, NEVER.
