Dawson should stop ducking Diaconu, prove his shaky chin and act like a man!

Yeah...if Johnson had been a bit fresher, he'd have finished him in the third...

I'm not underrating Dawson. I used to give him a free pass, but now, I've taken that back. He's still a top 25 p4p fighter for me, but not better, until he PROVES it!

To gain legacy points, you have to beat difficult styles. He's just about passed the Johnson test. Another such test is Diaconu.:yep

I pick Dawson against him because of STYLES, not because I think Pavlik is necessarily better. I don't believe Dawson has the power to hurt Pavlik, even if he can outbox him and make him look like ****. On the other hand, I'm pretty certain Pavlik has what it takes to land that right hand and buzz Dawson. And we both know Pavlik has the finishing skills to close the show, if he had Dawson buzzed, out on his feet.

    So...you do the maths.:good

Even Mundine would easily TKO Pavlik.

I'm ****ing tired of this awful Pavlik hype, the guy's a B level fighter who was lucky enough to come along and take the belt off of a PATHETIC champion that was flawed all the way around and weak to his style.

What's the point of sayin: "Even x or y would easily beat Pavlik!". That's not the point. We're not comparing Pavlik with Bute or Mundine or whomever, but with Dawson ONLY!

This is about Pavlik v. Dawson ONLY. :good

After all this I still think Dawson is the future of this division. People like to talk about his chin being shaky, but so far he's proven thats nothing more than speculation. In order to be on one of the elite fighters today you half to have a great chin and it seems like Dawson has one. Which makes me believe the 3 times he was knocked down were nothing more than flash-kd's. Calzaghe was knocked down by Hopkins, (who's not a hard puncher) does that mean Calzaghe has a horrible chin? Of course not.

As for Dawson's performance against Johnson, I think what really affected him was switching trainers one too many times. Dawson has already switched trainers 5 times and Eddie Mustafa is a downgrade from Floyd Mayweather Sr. If anyone doesn't think switching trainers effects a fighter, just look what happened to Cory Spinks. Spinks could of beaten Verno Phillips convincingly, but he broke off with long time trainer Kevin Cunningham 3 weeks before the fight which affected his performance. Dawson cannot fight Tarver or Diaconu like he did againt Johnson because he will lose. Dawson needs to get back to his original form somehow.

Out on his feet for 10 seconds/barely surviving...you call that a flash KD?:huh

    :-(

When was the last time you saw Calzaghe in that position?:huh

Apparently, he made around $600k. Diaconu made around $950k.

Dawson got up fast and recovered quickly which indicated he wasn't hurt. He also survived the last two rounds with no problems. As for Calzaghe, he was hurt by Hopkins and his nose was bleeding at the end of the 1st round.

Nose bleed is no problem if you can still breathe properly. He could.

Dawson was out on his feet TWICE against Johnson.

Nothing to do with nose bleeds, mate.

It's to do with the fact that for a short period of time, Dawson is very vulnerable in pretty much every fight he fights. If you have what it takes to close the show then, as Pavlik does, it's bad news for Chad.

I thought you were referring to the Adamek fight. When he fought Johnson, he wasn't even close to being knocked down, he got hit with hard shots and showed signs of being hurt. But every fighter has shown signs of being hurt, including Pavlik. The fact that he was NEVER knocked down in the fight proved to me he has a good chin. The thing with Dawson is that we NEVER knew how good his defense was until he fought Johnson. And this was the first time he actually was pressured from to round to round. I thought he handled it pretty well, although he could of fought better. I believe if Floyd Mayweather Sr was still his trainer he would of beaten Glen Johnson convincingly.

And you have to remember Pavlik was definitely vulnerable when he was knocked down by Taylor in their first fight. Glen Johnson landed some bombs on Dawson and he is a harder hitter than Taylor, and Johnson is a NATURAL LHW. The fact that he weathered the storm and won in a VERY CLOSE FIGHT, just proves to me he has a better chin than some people give him credit for.
