...nice going! Good to know you've been chasing only the very best for the last two years!:yep Tarver: "I'll have my best performance against Dawson!" ...really? :huh ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Is Tarver in it just for the money and because he doesn't have that many other better-payed options? For some reason, I cannot believe that...there's Erdei, say, who could probably get him more money in a unification fight. Even Diaconu could probably get him more money...In any case, does he really need the money to risk an almost certain "L" on his resume? 2. Did Showtime make it clear to him he needs to take this fight if he wants a hope in hell of ever appearing on their shows again? 3. Does Tarver really think he can win or is he forced into this fight and hopes for a lucky break against a superior opponent with a dodgy chin? Tarver thinks Dawson is the future, so maybe he thinks losing to a future great isn't such a bad thing after all. He might be hoping he gets lucky with a punch and takes Dawson out too. But maybe, Showtime have forced him into this fight too... What do you think?:?
Tarver is shot,he ain't got no chances but a KO punch which ain't probably gonna happen.Weather Showtime told him to take this fight or not is irrelevant now cuz he will retire after this.He ain't in it just for the money,he probably believes he can win but it won't happen
And Dawson won a controversial decision and was almost ko'd by his last opponent, Glen Johnson, who is also "definitely" past his prime. No disrespect to Glencoffe, who did a great job. Tarver is showing signs of age, but the fact that Dawon's chin is shaky, and he tends to get hit a lot, makes this a very intruiging match up.
I don't pay too much attention to what fighters say before a fight. Some of it's hype, some of it's just to get at their opponent. Dawson will be taking this fight seriously despite what he says. Tarver has looked very beatable, especially after Hopkins and Balboa mopped the floor with him. However, he did look good against Woods, albeit a Woods who seemed reluctant to let his hands go. And there's the rub. Has Tarver redisovered some of his old form or are we glorifying him because of his past accomplishments and his recent win over Woods. Personally I think Dawson is going to beat Tarver, and do so on points.
Just for the record he won a close SD with Balboa and he had his nad hurt in the second :nut .Woods just didn't rough him up enough, didn't let his hands go enough, didn't enough of everything, point is Wods looked bad,Tarver didn't look good.I also pick Dawson by UD
yeah because erdei's people are going to put him in that fight. i quite like, or liked zsolt as a fighter but he's not going to be risked after so many years of going stale in shitty defences of his title in a fight against a fellow titleholder. they'll milk what more they can now out of soft erdei defences and he'll then retire and take up a cushy position as a pundit in germany.
