I'd say there is no reason at all for Tarver to fight Dawson again! If the clause exists, throw it to the garbage.
Very interesting news. As far as I know, Tarver doesn't have a rematch clause. Also, since it's on HBO, that spells either Hopkins or Kessler for me. Both are extremely good fights and if Dawson fights either, I'll be very impressed.:good
I'll bet that kessler is wanting a fight w/ either taylor or the froch/pascal winner for uni. The taylor fight would be the most logical choice as taylor is the biggest name of those fights and the biggest paycheck/legacy\builder for the Dane. Dawson is in the lightheavy's and kessler isn't done at 168 yet. That fight will wait. Trust me!
Im not getting my hopes up for a fight with Kessler, being that Kesslers people have said that they wouldnt fight Dawson with him being a cruiserweight and all:roll:...I honestly think that it would be more likely that he would fight hopkins, which isnt that interesting, being that he would outwork Hopkins pretty easy and win a wide UD..I would much rather see him fight Diaconu then Hopkins..Tarver isnt going to happen, its not going to be a money fight seeing how easy Dawson beat him the first time, and I too doubt that Tarver had a rematch clause or eles it would have been known and Tarver wants a rematch and with his big mouth he would have been saying that he was going to force it, then again he took such a beatting maybe he is unsure if he is even going to fight again...Tarver has been quite which isnt normal for him.
Didn't Kessler's people already poo poo a fight with Dawson saying he's essentially a crusierweight? Anywho I'd love to see Dawson-Hopkins on HBO but IF Tarver has a rematch clause (and that's still apparently up in the air), I figure he'll exercise it and we'll get an unnecessary rematch again. Gotta suck if yer Showtime, You more or less put all your stock into one guy (Dawson) and when he gets big enough he flies the coop. Least you guys have Andre Dirrell.
sounds good....dont wanna see Tarver get dominated again though, but whatever it cant be helped i guess
I can't see Kessler's people risking a fight against a slickster like Dawson in the states unless it's big money, even though Kessler's options are pretty limited right now. Dawson seems to have a vulnerable chin, but getting to it is easier said than done with his speed. If Kessler loses, it could cost future shots agianst Froch/Pascal/Taylor, Bute, and Pavlik/Abraham. That's alot of money waiting at SMW for him. Diacanou is fighting Glenn Johnson next, and I thought Dawson had a mandatory vs Tavoris Cloud?
If HBO have all of a sudden got interested in Chad Dawson, I think that is a good indication that they are interested in Calzaghe Vs Dawson.
