First of all Diaconu from what I've researched has been keeping up with his training and crazy amounts of sparring and I agree a battle for an Interim belt would shake off some ring rust..Now Dawson has his hands more than full with Johnson..It's more than ignorant to just write him off..Trust me Johnson will be more than ready for Dawson...Johnson is no Adamek..Diaconu is hardly limited.. he has the greatest sense of balance and timing, very quick and catlike with his aggression, his overall ring smarts are World Class(partially due to over 300 amateur fights) so he's not some one dimensional unskilled brawler, His defense is above average, his chin is IRON, great stamina, not really a dominant jab but **** he's 5'9 this is for the most part countered by good movement and defense....And to mangle a former title challengers face into a bloody mess in 3 rounds is a good indicator of his ability and why he's feared

And that's why he got koed in the first round in the 2000 olympics? Diaconu may have better boxing ability than some people give him credit for, but he's not the future of this division. I remember before Dawson was ever noticed, people were talking about Diaconu being possibly the next great fighter in the LHW division. Then I saw the way he fights, he's not quick, nor does he have catlike aggression. I didn't think he was future of LHW division back then, I certaintly don't think he's the future of this division now, Dawson is though. Too many question marks about the guy and he's already 29, so he's not young either.

Interesting everything I stated is certainly true and well understood by most..Thats like saying Tyson was weak, PBF is slow, and Winky Wright has no defense...Is today opposite day or something?:think Your also forgetting that his size dictates his style and aggressiveness..balance, timing, power, defense all top notch..Is there another Diaconu I don't know about somewhere??

Everything you say was true? How can Diaconu have an iron chin when he has never been tested yet? And the guy telegraphs his punches, he's also stationary and doesn't have quick feet. Comparing Diaconu to Tyson, PBF or Wright is a joke. Like I said too many question marks about the guy, and he's still unproven, not a great fighter.

Christsake man how old are you? noone is comparing anybody. I was illustrating how irrational your statement was..Now to more of your opposite day statements..first Diaconu has excellent footwork..He doesnt dance if thats your thing...He is like a large Kostya Tszyu who stalked yet had superior and quick footwork..you associate footwork with defense
He never telegraphs his punches either..in this respect he's comparable to the random aggressiveness of a Shane Mosley
He is a very decent counter puncher as well
Also he's the furthest thing from stationary..constantly moving his head and body working his way in..develops great rhythmic movement only helping him transfer all his weight into punches hence the carnage ala Tyson

What does my age have to do with anything? My statement was not irrational becuase you were comparing him to Tyson and PBF, who are proven fighters. Okay I'll admit after watching him fight again, he does not telegraph his punches. None the less there is still question marks about him. He is somewhat crude, while Dawson is complete.

I picked the 4th option. I'm just disappointed becuase people were often talking about him being the future of this division some time ago. This was before Dawson was ever noticed, and the LHW division badly needed new blood. Of course I didn't believe he was the future of the divison back then, and I certaintly don't believe it now, despite what some of his fans think. And that's why I want to see him koed, sorry for sounding bias.

As we both know, in boxing, it's better to have people want you to fail than to have them not give a damn about you...by the looks of it, Diaconu, either loved or loathed, is not ignored...:D

The fact that you've made honest concessions at very important attributes I've pointed out tells me your a Dawson fan..Thats cool..I don't dislike Dawson at all..However in my opinion both are equally accomplished and both are close to becoming masters of their respective styles. Now in this respect both fighters have very subtle flaws..Dawson(chin) and Diaconu(smaller in height and reach if im not mistaken, a good jab but not a Dawson jab..but his style doesnt necessitate a Dawson jab just a solid one)So while it's difficult to have a legitimate gripe with Diaconu the same goes for Dawson who many people doubted before Adamek..Honestly I like both fighters. I'm a bigger fan of Diaconu for many reasons...Theirs not much to NOT like about the guy really...The only fighter of the 3 mentioned that i remotely compared was Tyson for maddeningly apparent reasons..However Diaconu is much more patient and intelligent that Tyson ever was...Now thats hard to debate mate..all you have to do is watch them...not saying Diaconu is the super exciting fighter Mike was but he's not far off..So patients bro
