Because Glen Johnson relentlessly pressed forward and kept throwing, of course. Tomek likely saw that fight, and regretted that he wasn't more aggressive and willing to take the fight to Dawson more. He knew from his own fight that once he quit waiting and went after Dawson he had the same success. But it was too little too late. You can't wait on Dawson - hell, in general no fighter should ever wait on an opponent with weak punch resistance. You have to go right after him. It's a universal problem in boxing, IMV. Guys constantly waiting on dixie cups. It's foolish, and frustrating to watch.
Its the kind of fighter that Adamek is, he did the same thing vs Cunningham. Im not sure about weak punch resistance that you talk of, Dawson has a decent chin.
atsch He won 1,2 and 3 rounds on the judges cards. Bell and Cunningham are the fighters that Dawson is, thats why they lost and Dawson didnt. :good
Yes, Adamek did the very same thing with Cunningham. Basically the only reason that fight was close. He might be able to adjust on that in the future, or not. As far as Dawson's chin it's ok at best. Definately on the weaker end of the scale.
He wasnt hurt on either knockdown. The one vs Harding came from a jab in a fight between to southpaws and feet were in play. Adamek landed a good right hand but Dawson popped right back up.
If it wasnt for Cunningham throwing any punches at all, Adamek would have swept and won all the rounds.
Sorry was that English? I saw the fight, and during 2 of the 3 knockdowns, Cunningham was winning the fight before the KD. Now why should Adamek get a shot against a guy who dominated his ass for 12 rounds, when there is a perfectly good rematch with Cunningham that could be made. Hell down the stretch Cunningham was lifting adamek out of his shoes and probably won the last 3-4 rounds. Rematch that first. Then talk about fighting a guy twice your skill level.
So after seeing Cunningham knocking the laces out of Adamek the last 4 rounds he wouldnt last to the final bell in a rematch. Sounds like your Polish friends have got in your head. :rofl
Adamek had Dawson badly hurt in their fight, and on many cards swept rounds 10-12. He was outboxed badly in the early goings though. The fight was great to watch all the way through, I for one would love a rematch.
