If the focused and determined Dawson that beat Glen Johnson in their second meeting shows up and executes a proper Steward game plan, Diaconu will do no better than finish, losing by wide UD.
Dawson should clearly beat Diaconu handily he is on a different level than Diaconu but this should still be a decent fight and Dawson coming off a loss could possibly make him more vulnerable so there is an element of uncertainty here. I think Dawson comes in to make a point in this fight and could possibly stop Diaconu late but I'd lean more towards a wide decison victory. If Dawson is negatively effected by his Pascal loss or decides to fight with no urgency then Diaconu could make this very interesting but I think Dawson is going to make a statement here. Dawson by UD.
I wouldnt be shocked if Diaconus pressure and aggression has Dawson running and backing off for a Diaconu points win. Remember Dawsons biggest wins are over a couple of fighters 14-15 years older than him, one has double figure losses and the other lost to that double figure losses fighter. Neither are that great, and Adamek was never a good LHW
In the first fight with Pascal, Diaconu was dropped. I honestly don't remember if he was hurt from it or not but he was definitely dropped.
Looks at some of his recent opponents - Adamek, Johnson x 2, Tarver x 2, and Pascal. All guys with iron chins who have never been stopped. I know Johnson was stopped by Hopkins in '97 but that was a different fighter and he was stopped on his feet. He should destroy this guy and then I'll laugh at everyone who was claiming that he was ducking him in the past.
I think Chad Dawson has a lot more to say at LH. I believe he feels like he was robbed against Pascal (I believe that he was on the verge of stopping Pascal right before the stoppage). He's pissed off by all of the attention Hopkins and Pascal has been receiving and I bet he destroys Diaconu and routes Pascal or Hopkins. The only person I think has anything for a motivated Chad Dawson is Ismayl Sillakh.
Dawson possible late tkoo but ill stick with clear decision..Diacanou isnt a bad fighter though and will win a couple,,or few rounds.
Maybe, but Steward might as well screw Dawson, think Cintron or Taylor. I was somewhat surprised he hired Manny but moreso that he got rid of Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. He should've put the blame on himself not on the trainer and come back as a better fighter. Again, with Steward it could go either way though he should handle Diaconu without a problem.
