Dawson was the man at 175 when it was a relatively weak division, but he was quite good technically and knew how to use his insane reach advantage to full when fighting other quality technically sound boxers. But, he had trouble with in your face kinda guys and nobody is more in your face as Beterbiev. Then count in that his chin isn't that solid and he was a juicer in his earlier career. Which explains his fall from grace at the time what should have been his prime (his late 20's and early 30's), but was the time that better testing was introduced to boxing. Beterbiev KO6
I don't know if I agree with it being a relatively weak division. It had Tarver in it, who Dawson beat 2x, B-hop was there, who Dawson beat 2x as well as Glen Johnson and Pascal not to mention a few others. I would say thats a pretty solid division. Just because its not Great doesn't mean its a Weak or relatively Weak Division.
