We will finally see why Dawson was ducking Diaconu a couples years ago....but Dawson should win if he wants to rematch and win against Pascal. I still don't get why he didn't bring his A game when they first met last year. He is the better boxer but I question his heart and will to brawl.

Good to see this fight is back on. Andrade would have been a good plan B but I like this fight slightly better.

Dawson-Diaconu would have happened in 2007 had Diaconu himself not pulled out citing injury. Mind you, this was at a time when Diaconu was coming off a performance against Rico Hoye, where he looked like a monster and Chad had no problem facing him. Fast forward a few months later, Diaconu goes life and death with Chris Henry looking like complete **** in the process, while Dawson elects to fight Antonio Taver, who's amongst the top of the division at the time, rather than face Diaconu coming off an unimpressive performance. That is not a duck, that's taking on a bigger challenge. Diaconu did nothing what so ever in that time period (or since) to warrant "ducking."

You must remember the episode when Dawson went to Mexico and camp a couple of days in front of Suliman's house to ask him not to go forward with the Diaconu fight. At the time, hopes were very high towards Dawson and the risk of facing younger Diaconu and look bad was too much. After Diaconu's hand or whrist was ok, there was no way Dawson would fight his mandatory and he faced good old Glen Johnson instead. Just saying...not a duck, but he avoided to face him. Most probably because Diaconu was a no-name and the money was not that great.

    High risk-low reward situation.
