Pascal didn't pressure him and he beat him.

I'll put it like this, if Chad comes out like people say, it may not work out.

What he said. Even W.Wright said later on that Hopkins was hard to find and hit clean.

BHop can do it like Pascal, circle and then rush in with that head. Land bodyshots to slow Dawson down, prolong the clinch, then sweep the late rounds for a close UD.

Dawson should have beaten Pascal, but BHop got more experience than Pascal.

I cant think of any other way of Hopkins winning this fight.

The herky jerky style he used, bouncing in and out is a form of "mental" pressure.
ugly pressure......but he kept Dawson mentally unbound, hard for Chad
    to react.

I wouldn't call it herky jerky style, not in the sense Michael Spinks had Larry Holmes waiting and waiting to set him up with the jab and in the meantime cause Spinks was frantic moving his head in between his gloves and then Larry was heating double right hands and left hooks. B'Nard is more of the guy who trows the bait and pushes the line in the direction he wants to go and at a certain point, his opponent is not properly poised or balanced and then he inverts his backpedalling and charges to make most of his set-reset tactics, I've seen him sparring recently and clearly he wants to work on manouevring sort of clumsy mover Dawson and make him get out of position often enough.

I have heard Hopkins describe his strategy of constantly making his opponent reset because while they reset he gets his opportunity to get off. Dawson will have a hard time in this fight. I think the posts you made in this thread are spot on.:good

As usual, the only things stopping Hopkins from winning would be his low workrate and older age. Still makes opponents look horrible. TBH I think Taylor has the only case to have beaten Hopkins post-Roy but no-one beat him in a clear fashion as Roy did.

First fight ended too early to predict what could have happened but Hopkins never beat someone with Dawson's style and is a a big disadvantage in the age department. Call me pushing it but if he beats Dawson clearly I have no problem calling him the best now.

Dawson is that good but doesn't apply himself nearly as much as he should as far as being concentrated in fights. He literally gave Pascal his belt and no case can be made that he'll become a workhorse like Marciano especially since he's near 30 and may not change his style anytime soon. Will watch to see outcome but hopefully it won't be another disappointmen.

Hopkins allready tried his early feint type tricks that did'nt work on Dawson.
Hopkins knew his tricks were not working on Dawson, thus the quit job that followed.

Hopkins will surely try to make this joke of a rematch a non-fight.

However I see Dawson fighting a controlled aggressive type of fight that will have Hopkins pressed to get out of danger, hug and wrestle, and try his damnest to make it look like its Dawson who's doing the holding.

In other words its Hopkins we'll being seeing but welcome back John Ruiz!

Chad Dawson knows full well what to expect so he's not going to be suprised by Hopkins' tactics.

KO or decision, easy fight for Chad Dawson imo!

Dawson is all that you say. The thing here is that Dawson does not like Hopkins, and thats the only motivation he needs to get ready to embarass old man Hopkins like no other has done before.

I always say Dawson is talented. Shouldn't ignore his history of looking good against old men but he gave away rds to Tarver and Johnson as well. Disliking each other doesn't mean the fight will be good, look at Hopkins/Jones.

Dawson should win this but that doesn't mean he will and Hopkins has a history of proving people wrong. As I said before, the first match was too short to make much out of it. Hopefully the rematch will be decent but will wait until fight happens for further judgement.

If Pascal couldn't stop Hopkins, what makes you think Dawson will?

I hate Dawson, but if he decided to step on the gas he could cause Hopkins fits. At any rate, this will be another disgraceful "fight" with a tainted ending.
