Dawson ~vs~ hopkins!

When has Hopkins ever shown he had trouble with southpaws. He fought three southpaws in a row and virtually beat them all. He had the most trouble with Winky and Calzaghe and Dawson isn't as good as either one of those guys. And I hope your not comparing Jermaine Taylor to Dawson cause he doesn't fight like him either and even if you were it still doesn't prove anything because Hopkins loss a controversial decision to Taylor.

 

Pascal beat Chad Dawson and it wasn't by any fluke, so please explain to me when Hopkins does figure out Bad Chad, how he's gonna make the adjustment? He better hope he gets a gift by the judges by just throwing a lot of punches because he's not gonna out box Hopkins, your really reaching if you believe that.

 

I'm not reaching. What you fail to realize is that Chad had family problems going into that fight not to mention styles make fights. Chad has great boxing skills he's not just a flawed athlete in the ring like Pascal who's looking to be exploited by a master like Hopkins. Dawson has solid boxing fundementals who can jab move go to the body fight on the inside combo punch counter has good defense and has good speed. It will be much harder for Hopkins to outbox Dawson than it was Pascal thus giving his biggest advantage away in this fight. I don't think at this point he can outbox Dawson for 12 a full rounds.

 

He outboxed winky wright and Calzaghe and their both better than Dawson, so how is he gonna do better? And what proof that you have at this stage he couldn't handle Dawson, when he clearly showed good reflexes against Pascal who is a lot more unothordox than Chad Dawson.
And Pascal would kick Dawson's ass again, nothing in that fight told me that Dawson can beat him and emunanel steward can't help him either. People used the same excuse for Paul Williams until he got exposed again. If the fight even happens, we'll throw a bet on it because I don't believe you really think Dawson can beat Hopkins. And i'm not talking about a controversial decision by the skin of his teeth which has happened in the past to Hopkins, i'm talking about decisively beating him.

 

I wonder who the favorite would be.
Hopkins looked amazing in his last two fights while Dwson looked shiat and mediocre.

 

You're clearly in the minority here. Most would favor Dawson in the rematch with Pascal.:deal In fact he was coming on late in that fight when it was stopped shows you he could have won that fight. In fact it wasn't even so much that Pascal beat Dawson it was more with Dawson beating himself. He landed at will on Pascal anytime he opened up.

Yeah he outboxed Wright at a weight he had no business at. Calzaghe beat Hopkins and Wright at 170 is not better than Dawson at 175 so just stop it. Not to mention that was 3 years ago. All I'm saying is that Dawson is a bad style match up for Hopkins at this point and will give him hell if they fight beating him by UD.

 

A year or two ago I would have picked Dawson to win wide. At this point, his mental flaws have been exposed, and NOBODY is better at capitalizing on mental flaws than Bernard. Bernard by decision, 7-5 or 8-4.

 

Well than take me up on a bet if they fight, since your so confident he can beat Hopkins. I know he can't beat Hopkins, but you believe he can so when the fight happens hopefully you'll step up to the plate.

 

It's a 50/50 fight. Jermain Taylor had focus and discouragement issues, too, but elite athletes give Hopkins problems irrespective of that.

Dawson has the tools to win seven or eight rounds, but he might not be able to perform on such a big stage. There are serious questions about him at this point.

 

Hopkins to win via SD to me this could end up a bore fest due to the styles of both fighters

 

The only way a boxer beats Hopkins is with a high workrate, dawson does not have that plus he lacks heart, their styles will clash
