Considering how tough Glen is, this should be a good fight.

Right....he fights a proven tough as nails champ like Adamek.......but ducks diaconu whos best result was getting knocked unconcious in the 2000 olympics:lol:

Here we go with the bull****.

As a business move - it makes more money to fight Johnson - with or without a belt - than it would be to fight Diaconu. As small as the risk is - the reward is bigger if he just skips the mandatory.

    Well see what happens.

    Well...yes!

Before Adamek, Dawson was not rated that highly even amongst hardcore fans because the Harding fight wasn't enough for that. Dawson had to start somewhere and the Adamek fight made him...had Adamek finished him off, he would not be so talked about. But now it looks like Chad is preparing for an easy ride, because he can - he couldn't before Adamek...instead of concentrating on prime, hungry, dangerous but limited worthy opponent Diaconu.:smooch

Sure, and were Dawson just another Champ with not much of a future like Berrio was, for example, he should do precisely that! But there are a couple of us who see a great future for Dawson and are pissed off he is not doing it right.

Diaconu backed out of the Dawson fight with a hand injury. Soif any one is scared, it's him:deal

Look, no one was/is scared. Diaconu was devastated to have to pull out with an injury. But he did it because he felt he really had a chance on his day and wasn't going to sell himself short. Dawson was not scared to fight Diaconu, but he did his best not to have to fight him, trying it on with Tarver instead. It's just that Dawson wants the money and the NAME on his resume and doesn't have the patience to do it right. He wants a shortcut even at his young age...well, that's just not on, with me, at least.

Dawson doesnt have to fight Diaconu untill the end of 2008

Dawsons 2x2008 fights will be a voluntary against glen johnson and a mandatory against diaconu.

    Both good fights for Dawson

I don't see how you can blame the Diaconu thing on Dawson. AD had the fight, but he pulled out. If Chad moves on to more established names and better money, who could blame him? It's not like Johnson is some relic.

I actually view this as a pretty tough matchup for Chad. He needs to face this kind of pressure, as Adamek was a stalker-puncher rather than a swarmer. After this, maybe he'll finally get Tarver, or perhaps something better?
