I'm picking Kessler, I think Dawson is too careless and he is gonna get caught by Kessler's right hand. But I could see Chad winning by decision too by stealing rounds with his fast flurries.
That's a good assesment. Dawson does sometimes get lazy on defense. However, Dawson would pose two big problems to Kessler that Calzaghe also presented to Kessler. That would be handspeed and southpaw stance. Kessler's whole offense is setup off the jab. Going against a lefty will make it hard for him to work that jab. Dawson's length and handspeed will make it that much more difficult for Kessler. This is a fight that Dawson could easily control like he did against Adamek. At the same time, he could lose focus and get his lights put out.
Still some question marks over both. It remains to be seen if Kessler was as good as we thought he was and that was a very good win for Joe. Or he wasnt quite as good. We will see in the coming months if he can come back to be one of the top of the heap at supermiddle. At light heavy, id probably give Dawson the edge at this stage.
around a year ago, i would have said kessler, but his last showings have not been that great. now i would say, an AMAzing fight, no KOs, Dawson UD or SD, depending on where they fought.
Still going with Kessler. Tarver put so little heat on him. And when he did, Dawson turtled up. How he beat Tarver is not indicative of how a fight with Kessler would go.
Dawson easily in a UD. Kessler hasnt shown me anything great yet. Dawson is on the precipice of greatness
Dawson would look good until Kessler lands a good shot on his glass jaw. Then the rest of the fight will be Dawson running for his life with the occassional quick slap combo pot shots that might look impressive, but are quite ineffective.
I think Dawson would win a decision in a great fight, 8-4 or 7-5, but Kessler would have a chance to stop him late if he stays active.
