Could Ring magazine rule the bout Dawson no1 VS Pascal no3 for their LHW belt? Basically Dawson has to fight Johnson but he already beat him twice and the second time was less than a year ago. Or Johnson's fight with Cloud is a week before Dawson VS Pascal. If Cloud beat him, he would be removed from the second spot, then I would not believe that Cloud would take his place as number2 but instead Pascal would be number2 so in that case we would have a new Ring LHW. Or do you wanna see winner of both fights for the belt? And if it's Johnson VS Dawson III are you willing to see it, even though Dawson would be favourite? Thoughts?
I think it has already been confirmed that the belt will be on the line, but seriously, it should be...
I didn't think it would be. But now that I think about it Erdei has moved to CW and he was the last linear champ at 175.
Dawson and Pascal are currently ranked 1 and 3, and they do say in some cases that they will permit one and three to fight for the vacant belt instead of one and two and as you said, he beat Johnson/2 twice, so I would be just fine with this being for the Ring belt. I consider Dawson basically an uncrowned champ right now. I hope they do that here.
Erdei should be Ring Champion, if they had followed the lineage instead of just awarding belts to whoever they wanted when they began awarding them again. In the situation as it is though, wouldn't mind if they allowed Dawson v Pascal for the title. Not exactly a stacked division though.
Well, Erdei is a bit of a can of worms to be opened here. It seems like the majority stopped recognizing his lineage for the Jones/Tarver one. Right or wrong.
It makes 0 sense for it not to be for the ring belt. The number 1 guy already beat the number 2 guy ****in twice, what more grounds do you need to make this a world title fight.
Kinda defeats the whole object of a lineage if people can just 'stop recognising' it when it suits them...
I know, Cobbler, but it does seem to be what happened. Really muddied the waters. But, if the top fighters of the division are fighting amongst themselves and then Erdei is not even in the mix...it's pretty screwed up. Can you imagine if Spinks fought the same guys Erdei fought after Gonzalez while Jones, Tarver, Johnson, Hopkins and Calzaghe were fighting and not mentioning him? It's a mess.
