Dawson wins, probably surprisingly easily. A big factor is that I just don't think Pavlik would be able to keep his workrate as high with an extra 15 pounds of muscle that needs oxygen for feeding. Also, as hard as Pavlik hits at 160, he probably doesn't hit as hard as Adamek at 175. Dawson is not only bigger and quicker than Pavlik, but he's a fighter of a type that Arum has avoided having Pavlik face his entire career. I just don't like Pavlik's chances against an exceedingly slick fighter, period. Fortunately for Pavlik, there aren't too many slick fighters in the 160 - 175 pound range these days.
Besides Pavlik being a MW, Adamek's corner as well as the ref were very close to stopping that fight. If it weren't for the 10th round KD by Adamek, that fight would've ended in a TKO. When you consider Dawson's speed, body and combination punching along with Pavlik's lack of size and less than steller chin and defense it's not a stretch to predict a Dawson stoppage against Pavlik.
give me a break wise ass so Abraham is starving himself because he fear the prime LHWs? same thing for Kessler? he fears the american so he stay at 168? :hi: dumbass
I'm not aware of Abraham experiencing any difficulties making weight. Kessler struggles a bit to make weight, but there are bigger fights for him at 168 rather than 175. Pavlik was talking about moving up to 168 years ago. Making 160 is a struggle for him. If he thought he could beat prime, elite LHWs, he wouldn't still be at 160. 160 is a crap divsion right about now. 168 and 175 are much better divisions right now than 160. The fact that Pavlik struggles to stay at 160 to fight the likes of Gary Lockett raises questions about his ability to compete at higher weights. The people saying that he could beat Dawson at LHW right now are living in a dream world. He would definately lose power at that weight, he would slower, and his defense and chin already aren't world class.
