Dawson struggled with a shot Johnson and got KD by Adamek. What has Dawson done to make you think he would competitive with a prime RJJ? Easy win for RJJ.

Dawson is open to punches and has a weak chin. Jones would land lead right hands at will.

Add to the fact that everything that Dawson does Jones does better = Jones easy.

Dawson looked good against an ancient Tarver. Tarver looked shot against Woods and Muriqi, this result should've been no suprise. Dawson lacks the power to keep a prime Jones from doing a Montell Griffin II or a Virgil Hill on him.

At 175, yes Dawson is as fast as Roy was. Throws better combinations aswell.

A ton? He had one of his toughest fights against Harding, a southpaw who never was close to the level Dawson is on. What happened when Roy fought Tarver? Roy admitted he'd have given him problems in his prime. Jones wasn't as good against southpaws, fact.

Mentioning Dawson would beat prime Roy is just another show of this guy's hype

Haha like i'm ever gonna respect your opinion on anything, shouldn't you be taking online bf% tests? :rofl ****ing idiot.

I've been a Dawson fan since he beat Harding and have been saying he's future p4p no.1. I'm a big Roy Jones fan, i have his career on dvd. Jones never was invincible, he sure looked like it at middle and super middle but at light heavy he wasn't the same fighter, he didn't have the footspeed anymore, he became less confident and more cocky while fighting average competition. Roy Jones was a fighter like anyone else, he had his flaws for sure.

Dawson is not faster than Roy was at 175 by any stretch of the imagination. Though i was very impressed with Chads combination punching against Tarver. Roy would definitely stop him. Dawson takes too much time off at the moment to have any chance of beating a prime elite 175 pound fighter with a high workrate by decision and he isn't a big enough puncher as he doesn't like to plant his feet so he wouldn't be getting a stoppage in this lifetime.

Prime Roy essentially does everything better, Dawson is too open to beat a hard hitting fast handed fighter like Jones was. His defence isn't up to scratch and he doesn't have the chin to hold up to it.

I like Chad and i have high hopes for him in the future but to be honest the idea that he would beat Jones at his peak at 175 is absurd.

Roy would also have a big size advantage over Dawson, Dawson could make the SMW limit easily right now.

    RJJ by TKO mid rounds.

It's unbelievable how overhyped Dawson is on this forum. He's a good fighter but no more.

More like a show of Jones hype. Let's look at it logically, a 6'3 southpaw with blazing handspeed who's not afraid to press the action, great bodypuncher with great combinations against a guy who at light-heavy liked to take his time and pot shot from the outside, Jones always looked uncomfortable when guys came straight at him, his opponents always showed too much respect, something Dawson would not do.

Everybody is all sentimental about Roy Jones, he's not sacred and looking at styles i don't see how Roy could beat him apart from landing a hail mary punch. Roy couldn't bang at 175 though and Dawson has shown he can stand up to the best that Adamek and Tarver could throw at him, both better punchers than Roy.
