dawson vs prime roy jones 175lbs

You really start to look like a ****head when you make a claim like Dawson having better defence than a close to prime Jones.

 

Roy Jones is one of the most overrated fighters on this forum. I'd pick him to beat Dawson, but you guys are crazy if you think he would just walk through Chad. Chad is a legit 6 '3, has blazing hand speed and is a lefty. Chad is not some chump of the street or some civil servant. He would certainly lose to Roy, but he would also give Roy some problems.

 

What is with you and Big L? He's widely reknowned as one of the best freestylers and lyricists of all time, regardless of whether or not he was a battle MC in the sense you're talking about. That's how he came up as a teen you stupid ****ing ****. Try to stay on topic, considering you're the one who brought up relevance.

Roy was starting to slowly fade by around '01 or '02 if you'd actually seen any of his career. The jump to Heavyweight followed by the weight draining process to get back down to LHW increased the rapidness of his decline, and it showed in their first fight when he clearly didn't have the reflexes and overall abilities that he used to. He still beat Tarver. In the rematch he was caught with a big punch and since then has never really recovered.

Tarver was considered a stylistic issue for Roy because of his ability to counter and time with his power, but even then, when Roy was healthy he made Tarver look like he had cement in his shoes. Hell, even at times in the third bout this was true. Dawson doesn't have the timing or power of Tarver, he has workrate, which wouldn't have been an issue with a prime Roy and never was, as he generally took those opponents apart with clean shots, and given Dawson's lack of defense and chin, that would almost certainly be the case here.

I just don't see what you're seeing. somebody this early in his career with the flaws he's shown so far? He still has a long way to go. Besides the tarver fight is just one fight.
