Whether RJJ wins or loses against Calzaghe, I think that this is a potential fight in the making. So what do you think? Will young lion triumph or will we have another crafty old pro expose an over-hyped fighter?

I think Roy will have his moments but I don't think he can sustain it for 12 Rds. Dawson by UD unless Roy can knock him out.

I do, but it'll be a Dawson UD so it's not a good reward/risk match for RJJ. Of course RJJ would've wiped the floor with Dawson in his prime and this whole Tarver thing would never have come up had RJJ beaten Tarver soundly in his prime.

Not sure why this fight would even take place.

I will evaluate the fight after the Calzaghe fight .I'd like to see it right after that fight .Of course pending his performance...

Chad looked very sharp against Tarver but bad against Johnson. So who knows what you will get with Roy.

    Co-sign.

Workrate alone should win this for the youngster.

I think Glen Johnson's style is the one that would give Dawson the most problems. I mean Dawson vs a Glen Johnson with one-punch KO power would be really bad news for Chad imo.

Tarver on the other hand did back Dawson up, but he didn't pressure him the way Glen could, throwing many punches that is. That's why Dawson made it look that easy against Tarver.

I believe the same would happen with Roy, unless he finds a way to hurt Dawson.

I can see this fight happening if Roy beats Calzaghe (which I don't see happening) or more than likely loses by decision, in which he'll more than likely pull a Hopkins and act shocked and like he won. It's become apparent to me that Roy is just fighting for the money now and would probably be glad to be a gatekeeper as long as he appears to still be relevant and can cash a big check. Dawson doesn't appear to have the power to hurt Roy (but who knows with Roy's glass jaw). Stylistically I think Roy has would make Dawson look very stupid at times, but realistically probably can't sustain it for 12. I do think it would be a hell of more entertaining fight to watch than Dawson vs Hopkins or Calzaghe.

    I like Roy...And I like Dawson...this is a fight I wouldn't want to watch. It's all bad for Roy...

Dawson is a Southpaw, with the work-rate, speed, fresher legs, reach and stamina all on his side. Roy is much better off fighting Joe than he ever will be fighting Dawson...
