Damn, you're right. Chad needs a big fight to get attention:
    Hopkins, Tarver, Jones, even Johnson.

I wonder why Americans don't appreciate their young, talented boxers.

Maybe Holyfield should step in for the injured party.

I really wanted to see Dawson-Tarver. I think Dawson would have gotten some nice exposure from winning that fight. Dawson has the tools to end up a star and beating Tarver would be a huge step in that direction. I also thought Tarver had a decent shot in this bout as well, though he would have probably gotten beat.

Diaconu looks to be a solid, young, powerful contender and makes for a decent fight with Dawson. I just think style wise, Diaconu is in for a long night with Dawson. Dawson-Diaconu is a decent match-up I would have personally preferred Dawson-Tarver.

Boxing ranks very low on the totem pole here in the U.S. compared with other sports. That's just how it is. You have to have big wins to gain attention, and usually that doesn't happen until late in a fighter's career.

It's too bad, because casual fans never really got to see the best of Hopkins or Mayweather (although at least he's close), among many others. I was just hoping Chad would break through by getting a win over a Roy KO culprit.

But for we real fans, I think the AD fight is better. Just not as good for Chad.

Actually, Johnson's people wanted to fight Dawson in the slot he eventually gave to Ruiz, and I thought that would have been a good move. On the other hand, I can see where Dawson's people recognize that Johnson wouldn't be a huge fight, and yet believe it or not I think he'd give Chad a fair bit of trouble.

True. But Diaconu earned his shot by TKO ing Rico Hoye in the 3rd round in a title eliminator. Whos Clinton Woods fighting next? Any word?

    I din't know, that Dawson-Tarver was on.
But i don't care. Diaconu showed a better perfomance against Hoye, than Tarver against Muriqi.

Didn't say there was a point.... Tarver was one of the names Roy mentioned and he isn't fighting anybody right now.... You think Tarver would actually tell Roy no??? I don't. Tarver would fight Roy 10 times
