You fools can continue to act crazy but the guy who has the skills to batter Joe is Dawson. He was always the one and somehow this fact is always obscured.

He was the threat before an ancient BHop before the talk of Pavlik or a shot Jones. Dawson is the only one who is a legitemate lightheavy at the peak of powers and with the physical gifts to beat Joes ass. But its all lost in translation somehow!

Until Joe beats him and then it will be said he was too young and too raw.

When you say "always" you obviously mean "since the Tarver fight".
You hype boys make me laugh. :deal

There was talk of Dawson before the Bhop fight. In fact I remember some Joe fans saying they would rather see Joe face a young live opponent rather then a diminished old Hopkins. Also it was widely acknowledged that out of Pavlik, and Dawson - Dawson was the more difficult fight. The clamour for Pavlik was because he was viewed in some ways as a KO artist. The idea of Dawson as a live oponent has been kicking around for a while.

I think Dawson is the biggest threat to Calzaghe currently and I think Calzaghe knows this. If Calzaghe continues to fight on, this fight has to happen next unless it's a rematch with Bernard Hopkins.

Yeah he was always the biggest threat after pavlik got whooped and tarver lost to him. The boxing community will always throw up that 'one more legit oponent' for a fighter on the verge of retirement, this time it just so happens to be dawson.

Yes, Dawson's a legitimate threat, but I don't see how that somehow makes the Hopkins fight inconsequential - especially after what Hopkins did to Pavlik. I can't help but feel that even if Calzaghe beats Dawson, there'll still be people crawling out of the woodwork saying the same sort of thing about Tarver, Taylor, Johnson or whoever else Calzaghe hasn't faced yet.

    Damn straight.

I'm sorry, but Glen Johnson was robbed against Dawson, and Johnson is a pressure fighter along the same lines but nowhere near as awkward as Joe Calzaghe. RafaelGonzal, I think you need to do your homework, son.

Many said that about Pavlik before he got exposed by Hopkins. Many said he would knock Calzaghe out.

Let's face it, there is always somebody younger coming through he gets hyped up. First it was Pavlik, and people said Calzaghe was ducking him. But look what happened. Now it's Dawson, and people claim Calzaghe is ducking him. When he loses, people will finally understand that Calzaghe didn't need to fight him.

Saying that, I hope he does, because he would beat Dawson.

Calzaghe already reniged on a fight with Dawson which was set to take place on Nov. of 2007. So clearly Calzaghe views him as a threat. Dawson is a tough matchup for anyone at 175 and under.

I'm ok with Calzaghe not fighting Dawson. However, I believe Dawson would definately be a tough matchup for Calzaghe.

He's only recently stepped up to light heavyweight and beaten the main man who was Hopkins so Dawson wasn't always the real threat at all. He's only head 2 fights in his whole career at LHW ffs!

Yeah Dawson gets knocked down by a weak jab from the lite hitting Harding and Johnson clearly beat his ass. Lacy, Taylor, Pavlik, and Now Dawson. Always hype for american fighters.
