After the fight last night, when Dawson was asked if he'd give Johnson a rematch for a contreversial verdict, in a fight where Dawson lost something far more important than his belt, RESPECT, I say that it's obvious, the man is overrated in a big way !!!

If Johnson was almost able to knock him late last night, I just can't imagine what will happend to him when he finally face his mandatory later this year, the winner of next week's bout between Chris Henry and Adrian Diaconu. No reason not to respect Henry, but in my opinion, Diaconu should have no problems dealing with him.

That when things will get exposed, Dawson has a poor defense, a weak chin, and he's not powerfull enough to finish a 39 years old warrior. Johnson was hitting at will yesterday, and he was hurting him quit often, so bad things to come for Dawson.

My prediction is when Dawson and Diaconu meet later this year, Diaconu will win by a brutal K.O. around the 5th round.

The guy has no chin, what more can I say.....???

Dawson is a descent fighter, but he dosn't have that FIGHTER in him to give Glen an immediate rematch!

You obviously don't know **** about the sport. Johnson is probably one of the toughest fighters in boxing and wouldn't be stopped by your hero the shark either. As a matter of fact I'd pick Johnson over the shark. I picked Dawson by UD and only a fool would have picked Dawson to KO Johnson.

:fire You obviously don't know **** about Diaconu, he hits at least twice as hard as old Johnson, moves much faster and has the skills and the killer instinct that Dawson or Johnson didn't had last night.

Take that you pimp ass ***** !:fire

I know plenty about The shark he's a limted fighter with a good punch. He will be thoroughly outclassed when he faces Dawson bet on it. The Shark's power won't have much effect against Glen he would pressure the hell out of the Shark and wear him down.

Can I take this moment to throw a comparison out there: Chad Dawson is beginning to remind of of the Light Heavyweight Andy Lee in this way: They're tall, skilled southpaws, who have slick movement that winds up not meaning that much because they both still get hit too easily. Way too easily against the right. And, they can't fight on the inside that well at all.

Don't get me wrong...I love Glen Johnson. I think he's a classy guy who's a benefit to the sport. But Chad Dawson shouldn't have gotten hit near as often as he did last night. Glen is neither fast nor a monster puncher and Dawson nearly couldn't take it. The blueprint's out there. All you need to do is get inside of Chad's jab and you can hit him on the inside. He's got excellent footspeed and agility, but he was getting caught over and over even though Glen didn't even try to cut the ring off- he was just following Chad, deflecting punches, and then getting right inside.

People might think I'm reading too much into this, but if I'm a fighter who has a great lead right, I've got to feel pretty damn good about my odds of catching him. We'll have to wait until his next fight to see if he fixes that. It's too early to say he won't, but it's no given to say he will, either.

A close fight against a guy with a cast iron chin and a relentless fighting spirit is nothing to be ashamed of.

It's a ****ING LEARNING EXPERIENCE...and Dawson passed the test and showed a lot of heart, too.

How can you NOT show him respect?

Man, when the pendulum swings on this forum, it swings!

I think Diaconu actually has a better shot against Dawson than he would versus Johnson, who would kick his ass.

Even with that, Dawson should be able to outbox Diaconu badly, provided he fights intelligently and makes basic improvements to his defense.

:patsch Do you call what he did saturday as intelligent boxing ??? :patsch

Johnson was able to hit him at will, and was hurting him too. I don't know if you ever saw Diaconu fight, but this guy has bricks in his gloves and most of all, he has a willpower that few boxers carry in their bags.
That's where is nickname comes from, you know a shark that smells blood.....

And i agree, Johnson would make a better opponent than Dawson...

I agree with you. I don't think Diaconu has that much of a chance against Johnson at all; certainly less of a chance than against Dawson.

Dawson will certainly outbox Diaconu. He will make him look really bad for the first couple of rounds...really bad. Then, either Diaconu will get through, land a couple of good shots and take Dawson out, after slowing him down a bit...or, if he doesn't do that by about round 8 or 9, Dawson will have a good chance of actually stopping Diaconu with his jab and bodypunching, as Diaconu tires and comes forward more ploddingly, more slowly and less effectively. This could be just the fight for Dawson to say: "I'm back! No more stupid mistakes; no more loss of concentration; better defence, good, PROVEN chin, and the style to take over at 175, in the future!"

...If Diaconu beats Henry, which is NOT a given by any means - anyone who thinks otherwise is underrating the chances of a puncher with nothing to lose, against a puncher who will aim to impress! Anything can happen between Diaconu and Henry. It's not like Diaconu cannot be dropped or stopped. He was KOed in the first round by the great Gutierrez in the amatuers!

    AND...

IF Dawson takes the Diaconu fight, that is...and it's quite a big IF! If Diaconu beats Henry, I predict Dawson will drop the belt and go for Tarver instead. Much better risk/reward, an easier fight to win and harder to lose in absolute terms, but probably less money than a Diaconu fight and less to gain in legacy terms than a Diaconu fight.

Not sure he passed the test at all. He did show heart, when he should have showed brains instead (traded toe-to-toe when he should have boxed - and lost) and got on his bike a lot and kept that arm extended and static to keep Johnson at bay, when he should have boxed - pissing the crowd off). Certainly cannot respect his attitude to Johnson after the fight - he was arrogant, he wasn't sincere with himself and with everyone else and he was disrespectful. If he had only said - "yeah, this was a very good learning experience for me; the fight was very close; next time I would do much better; perhaps we should have a rematch further down the line, after I beat my mandatory..." that would have been grand! But he didn't. He thought he'd done it all; thought he proved it all; thought he was already the uncrowned king at 175...

...The crowd in the arena thought he lost, 80% of Showtime viewers thought Johnson's performance was the most impressive out of the four fighters on the night, and most ESB posters thought Johnson won, with a sizable number going for the draw.

I put this fight in my book as a "JLC I" fight, where politics played a big role. Dawson was never going to lose on points unless Johnson won at least 8 rounds clearly or KDed him at least twice, IMO.
