At least Pov came to fight, unlike Parker.

Huge statement indeed, he can't box for ****, and needs his power to bail him out repeatedly.

Better to have a competitive fight with him than duck him altogether, no?

Povetkin a stylistic nightmare for both Joshua and Wilder - actually think Wilder would have lost to him, for example.

I don't think how the early rounds went in that fight is any indication of how a Wilder fight would go either, despite what some are saying here. Povetkin is an elite boxer, better perhaps than even Joshua. Certainly far better than Wilder.

Nice finish by AJ I actually had Povetkin ahead (I missed one round due to TV reception problems) and he was causing AJ lots of problems with his speed, power, craftiness and experience. Povetkin despite all the physical disadvantages he was up against and his age was very dangerous and he fought really well. In fact, AJ did well to take some of those big shots Povetkin fired over the top and through the middle. Physically AJ is a beast but he's very stiff and flawed IMO and even though he's improved a great deal I'm not sure if those flaws are correctable.

Povetkin technically a class above him, but was stupid not to take a knee after Joshua landed that monster right hand.

Joshua spends nearly 7 rounds setting up a shot, lands it, and still gets criticized.

Povetkin’s coach was actually stopping him from getting up from the first knockdown. He was literally pulling him down.

Fighters just ain't going to surrender supremecy to the EE fighters you love and praise so much! Kov down, G Baby down and now Pov. Looks like EE supremecy looks to be tougher than you first suspected. You still got Usyk and Loma. Those dudes ain't losing anytime soon and should dominate for a while. This is what boxing is all about. High emotion on display. You bring it CTS. Nothing but respect my friend!

AJ needs to learn from this fight.. he is still developing and in a couple of years will be prime. Povetkin's experience showed here, especially in the first two rounds.

    Really nice finish from AJ.
