Yes and macklin has just been saying his jab was great so maybe I'm wrong. I was just expecting a far cagier performance for the first few rounds at least..

I think Wilder dodged a bullet when he didn't fight Povetkin a while back. I think there was a good chance he'd been knocked out with Pov's style.

poor povetkin, if only he took a knee when he got clipped. he didn't get a chance to see if AJ was going to gas. the pace would have got to aj eventually.

Exactly, fighting a short technician who throws compact and powerful hooks is different than fighting tall guy with poor balance and footwork.
Joshua had to adopt to Povetkin's unique style, he lost some rounds, so what? He's the first man to stop Povetkin and that's how it will be remembered.

5-1 Povetkin, maybe one other round was near even.

Unbiased aussie here.. AJ is still improving as a fighter. To KO Povetkin like he did (remember no one has ever stopped Povetkin before).. shows he is worthy as the number #1 in the division.

Who's to say how Wilder would have done in there tonight, he has not yet fought this level of opponent.

Notice as soon as Povetkin landed the heavy shots Creepy Adam Smith immediately mentioned his failed drug test. Once again the commentary was horrific apart from Haye’s brilliant analysis and observations.

Without doubt, and if this fight was a few fights ago in AJs career, the result might well have been different.
