He looked ponderous and his defense was not good, he froze when he got hit by Povetkin and he fought almost fearful in the first 3 rounds.

I thought Povetkin looked better until he got overpowered by brute force from the bigger man, a physically stronger and more durable fighter would have stopped Joshua today, i think he had an off night.

So you don't know even what boxer you are talking crap about kind of pathetic really... you realize he beat Eddie Chambers in Germany and Povetkin is from Russia. Maybe you should learn the definition of hometown. Povetkin was a gold medal winner and has only lost twice in his career both against the heavyweight considered #1 in the world at the time.

I think it was a clever performance, levelled with caution after the first round. Joshua has to weigh up what he was up against after the 1st round. I doubt he thought Povetkin was going to be so aggressive. And the fact that Povetkin was able to get to him would have made Joshua cautious, and rightly so. Joshua’s also a good inside fighter for a tall man, but Povetkin is deadly at close range. So again, after the 1st round Joshua rightly changed his approach and felt his way into the fight.

I will watch the fight again, to be honest i was shocked, not because i thought Povetkin couldn't be competitive but the way he fought he just didn't look good to me.

Agree, there's little to no mention of one key thing Joshua did which I felt won the fight. Body jab. Povetkin really really struggled with that shot and clearly felt it every time he got speared with it. Joshua used that as his main weapon to methodically break him down.

Did Joshua get hit too much? Absolutely.

Did Joshua lose rounds? Yup, 3 in my card.

Do I think he or his corner were concerned how close it was in the cards? No, because every passing round it was clear to me which fighter was being physically broken down.

Great performance from Joshua, did what nobody else has done to Povetkin. Even saw the hands drop and a few shoulder rolls lol!

Would prefer the ref to stop the fight after the first knockdown, Povetkin falling through the ropes barely making it for the count and sent back dazed to fight a fresh 240lb heavyweight

Could have ended in a worse fashion there

I think that the performance of joshua was possibly his worst to date (iam a joshua fan. But a realist to)
it was this fight that confimed my suspicion that joshuas media persona has taken his fighters edge away, do i blame him? not really. But because of it hes defiantly taken his eye off the prize, his legacy.
His team are clearly letting him down by not working on his lateral movement, and footwork.
