For a guy as talented and entertaining as Canelo, I just don't get as excited for his fights for some reason.
Too much negativity surrounding each fight. Quite a few have said the same thing about the trilogy with Golovkin. They want to see it but are just tired of all the BS, so they don't really care about it anymore.
I'm good with it and I've slated a number of Canelo's joke fights. This is a legit defence against a capable opponent who will be coming to win. Now I hope that Canelo and GBP don't ruin it with a load of A-side caveats and general skullduggery.
Subconsciously people can get past the triangle bias. Sergey didn't come close to beating Jacobs, and Jacobs didn't come close to beating Canelo therefore this wont be close is in the back of most peoples minds. Sergey also had a hell of time with Culcay. Of course none of that mean's anything as styles make fights, but there it is.
I didn't think Dev looked very good against Culcay and I thought he was going to beat Jacobs. Worthy opponent though.
Exactly this. It's become clear that he's not really as good as we had hoped he was, and Jacobs showed us his level. The fact that he looked meh against Culcay (and who the F is he, right?) must have made Oscar wet with excitement. SD hasn't really got a hope against Pednelo and they know it.
If people are complaining about Derevyanchenko , imagine the outrage if he bypassed a list of 90 names before picking a guy nobody ever heard of
Its a good fight Derevyan has good feet, speed and power....enough to make it an interesting fight. Golovkin is getting too old anyway. Maybe they'll put this up in New York...
