Eric Mario Tudor vs. Kevin Jerel Johnson, 10 rounds @ welterweight

 

Johnson has lost to a few undefeated prospects in the pros, and in the amateurs lost to Erickson Lubin when he was 20 and "The Hammer" was 17.

Tudor in the amateurs, on the other hand, managed to hold Floyd Schofield to a SD when both were in their mid-teens.

Tudor is nine years younger, an inch taller, and giving up 3½″ of reach.

 

Johnson gets two nicknames, apparently ("KJ" and "ThunderStar") - while Tudor gets zero.

 

Johnson being very elusive but not countering much. Tudor cutting the ring off patiently and scoring with the 1-2.

Johnson is trained by "King" David Edward Sample - a 90s lightweight contender who fought two world champions in his career (losing a wide decision to Miguel Ángel González, and getting dropped 4x and sparked in two minutes by Zabdiel Judah).

 

Johnson shaking his right glove at the crowd after blocking one punch. Awful lot of showboating for this early in a match where he really hasn't done much of anything offensively yet.

Not a lot of fireworks due to Johnson's slick and negative style, although he is landing counters here & there when he wants to.

 

Johnson would be way up according to Comp-U-Taunt.
