DAZN: Fighters should throw their WBA belts in the trash

I couldn't believe what I heard tonight,,the WBA has 43 belts across 17 divisions.

What does he mean by that, though? As far as I know, there are 17 weight divisions in boxing.

Does he mean "world championship" belts? He must mean that, because otherwise it is completely normal and not even limited to 43 belts (I would imagine).

WBA (super) is the only one that counts - their legitimate world championship belt. Anyone who calls themself a world champion while holding WBA (regular) is a joke.

 

Nice to here a network representative tell it as it is. Usually it's in the networks interest to inflate the value of the belt as a selling point for the fight but for him to basically say this isn't a world title fight really is refreshing.

But it needs to go further than just talk from a commentator if anything is to change the networks themselves need to take a stand and stop marketing these superfluous world titles as world titles and ban WBA regular, WBC silver title fights from airing on their network.
