for discussion — how hard do you guys think Bam hits? He scores one punch KOs. But he’s so fast and so light on his feet that his KO shots mostly look like total surprises to his opponents. Like they didn’t see it coming at all, and worse, it’s from an angle they didn’t expect to be hit from.

my best guess is well above average for 115, but not in the same class as, say, Nakatani. Maybe a 7 out of 10?

 

Isn´t he also like close to 140lbs on fight night? Supposedly he drains a ridiculous amount.

 

Nobody is draining 35lbs. And he looked tiny compared to Cafu at the face off.

 

After Usyk/Dubois, these fights feel pedestrian. It's like coming down from a high.

 

115 + 10 = 125
125 + 10 = 135
135 + 5 = 140
10+10+5 = 25

I dont think he drains 25lbs, but it was rumored that he was 140lb for a second day weigh-in in one of his recent fights. Which means he likely weighed in with clothes on, but would still mean that he cuts a ridiculous amount.

 

relatively speaking, about as hard as floyd. but like you said, its the unexpected punches through holes you didnt even know you had.
im losing my confidence in my initial assessment of how far bam can get. hes not growing, and hes not a big guy even for 115, never mind the bantams.

 

ok sorry my math wasn't mathing. i may have had a couple beers. and a bit of scotch.

and now i need to put a suit on and go to a family event, before hauling ass (wife driving) back home to catch Bam vs. Cafu.
