No, you don't, but this particular southpaw is a blown-up strawweight, and the contest was originally scheduled for bantam and Ochoa didn't even make that (missed it by 1¾ lbs). So, you know, take whatever risk the southpaw factor entails with a grain of salt.

 

Ochoa used to spar with Daniel Román, apparently - when he was in high school and Roman was champ.

 

Sarguilla seemed to have pulled a leg muscle in round three. Still bothering him as we await the scorecards.

Ortega is yet another young undefeated Californian. Saant is a 35 year old journeyman (who looks the inverse of that - 53 ), but we've changed the pattern slightly - he's from Ecuador, not the Philippines.

 

Fernando Vargas Jr. was sitting in doing commentary with Gabe Rosado and the play-by-play guy for a while there. Very bro-out vibes.

Boxing is a side hustle for Gaona; his main thing is doing wraps & tints on cars. Apparently when Andy Ruiz won the heavyweight championship he went to Gaona to pimp his ride to celebrate.
