I agree, but Joshua is Okolie's manager I'm sure he probably insists Eddie adds him to his undercards.

ESPN+ has picked up some good fights, but they've also picked up some pretty big mismatches like Berchelt's last fight. Can't complain about most of their fights other than you get 30 days to watch it after it's done and if you don't tough luck it's gone no on demand after that. Where as I believe if you want to watch the Khan vs Vargas or AJ vs Povetkin cards again a year from now you can. I like that.

 

Again I don't disagree in the slightest, just saying Hearn probably doesn't have much choice unless he can take Joshua out of adding him for future cards.

Kenny is fine but not sure why so many keep giving sugar ray a try. He sucks. He has no idea what to say and when he does, it is cliche drivel.

 

He hasn't got much better since he had Roy's job on HBO decades ago.

 

They have a free month try going on right now so why not. Yes they carry fights that you wouldn't be able to see on your local cable provider in the states, but they only have fights for boxers under the Hearn umbrella.

 

Until the WBSS starts you mean, which is next weekend.

 

Didn't realize that started already. Well then even more of a reason to take advantage of the free month DAZN is giving right now. It's $9.99 a month after that. Which isn't bad especially if they are putting on fights that you want to see.

 

Next weekend actually Friday is Groves vs Smith SMW final the following is the really good card in Chicago. then every week after for awhile season 2 of the WBSS starts.

 

Yeah your right, he definitely has to have a word with him about the wrestling. Don’t get me wrong I can appreciate the effectiveness of it because he is winning and he looks very strong when he ties you up. However you can’t do it to the amount this guy was, he could easily have been DQed last night.

Sounded like it went pretty well then for it's first proper card.


The majority of the card turned out awful though, but like I said in the RBR thread, Hearn gets criticized for putting on beatdowns, but then when he puts on competitive fights with awkward styles it's labelled as 'boring'.

Campbell v Mendy was better than anything put on the GGG/Canelo undercard......But Campbell has improved so much since Linares it was very one sided.

Okolie is trying to adopt a very awkward style, which makes him very hard to watch. If he can find the right balance between being elusive and using his natural physical advantages, he could be a good fighter.....I don't like Okolie, but to be fair to him he's had 10 fights and just won a domestic title, whereas most are fighting bums until 20+ fights. He just beat a guy that went 11 with Glowacki, who himself went 12 with Usyk.

 

Dewd WBSS has 3 new seasons and do double-headers every two weeks for several months, incl. the fancy BW tournament, never mind Eddie Hearn shows. Both ESPN & DAZN r looking to get HBO fighters now the network is done. It's not a bad beginning and content will only ramp up.
