These are the rules in the 2000s though. The gloves are designed to not let you hold with the hand, just the arms and you're not allowed to hold and hit; or spend time much inside. It's not really a critique of Wood but boxing rules as their enforced. A referee who did let Warrington fight more up close would be awesome, but that referee wouldn't be doing his job right.

That was such a chore..

 

Still, if you were being unbiased and followed the actual rules then this much holding would not have been allowed to happen. Literally every time Warrington got close it was a clinch from Wood, and the ref then immediately intervened.
That is blatant cheating on Wood´s part, and incompetence on the referees.

 

A shutout for Wood, if you are feeling generous you can give Warrington a round. Warrington's career at world level was pretty much ended by Lara; for a fighter like Warrington who is so reliant on incessant, reckless aggression, being KO'ed and rendered gunshy pretty much neutered him.
