PBC will ride that gravy train til it's death.
HBO overpaid for mismatches and went down the drain.
SHO just overpaid for Wilder-Breazeale and now is fighting with Fox for Wilder-Ortiz II. SHO will likely end up spending a big chunk of it's 2019 budget on just Wilder. If no one steps in, they will do so again next year for PBC guys. (And SHO schedule has been horrible)

And then there is FOX. I haven't really paid attention to them, but they seem to be struggling with ratings. PBC came out of the gate with strong ratings at first, but it has been a bit downhill since. But then again, that all depends on what FOX is paying for those cards.

DAZN needs to stop paying for mismatches and start putting on competitive cards.

It's rather they ran out of money earlier. DAZN (USA) have been digging themselves into a huge financial hole...

I think it's more like they care about the money they lose, because they're planning to earn it back and try to make a profit in the long run and have to please their investors.. The PBC situation seems to be different, as they just seem to have screwed over a large hedge fund.

I wonder if SHO will be going the same way as HBO?

I'm pretty sure Showtime will be out of the boxing business by 2021.

No doubt.... by all accounts the delay in the Wilder fight is because SHO have first refusal on the fight but are struggling with the funding. Whereas FOX are apparently interested and have funding but will not pay the purses that SHO and PBC garaunteed Wilder when he turned down the DAZN deal.

    I would think so.
They do only monthly shows now and even if the fights are good, they lack in name value.
And the ShoBox: New generation series*
January: Pacquiao vs Broner PPV - 400k sales, around 30mil generated.
February: Davis vs Ruiz (originally Mares) - 487k peak
March: Lara vs Castano - 530k peak
April: Shields vs Hammer and Easter Jr. vs Barthelemy. - 369k and 343k peak
May: Wilder vs Breazeale - 990k peak
June: Jermall Charlo vs Adams - 434k peak
July: Davis vs Nunez - 553k average
August: Nothing? I think they skipped this month.
    September: Dutchover vs Mattice
    October: Shields vs Habazin.

Stephen Espinoza has butchered SHO boxing. PBC's supposed annual budget is over 125mil(60mil from SHO). Either someone has inflated the numbers or something fishy is going on, because I have no idea where all of SHO's money is going.
Well, Wilder got paid 10mil for his mismatch with Breazeale  ****er made PPV type money on regular SHO. ****ing hell.

 Davis got a cool mil for Ruiz.

Wtf Espinoza? At least Easter and Barthelemy made reasonable 250k each.

DAZN seem to be very smart in the way the strategise. I think they have effectively made their major invesment into boxing will still pay strong purses as Matchroom have a major budget.

But they will not be paying major money for fighters to come over who do not drive numbers. They have a very analytical approach as they can see fighters true values and who is driving traction and pulling viewers.

I think they still have a pot of money to bring big fighters to the platform should opportunity arise but they will not pay overinflated purses similar to the one Tevin Farmer and Jarrell Miller got to those level guys. I think anyone within the Matchroom/GBP stables will be taken care of but they will not be paying fighters millions to join with profiles like Gary Russell Jr. However if the likes of a Wilder, a Crawford or a Mikey Garcia became available they would be all over it.

Their deal with PBC ends in 2021. Fingers crossed that either Espinoza gets canned or the entire department gets cut.
SHO signing elusively with PBC has been disastrous for the boxing fan.

Well they've already ****ed up because the fighters will be expecting the same purses. DAZN is a complete joke. What happened to Hearn's big boasts about being able to pay higher than anyone else? My thinking is that the bosses have had enough of Hearn spunking their massive budget on Tevin Farmer, Maurice Hooker and Jesse Vargas.
