For what it’s worth, I’ve recently cancelled TNT because the loss of boxing pushed me over the edge. I could just about justify the fee for the few Champions / Premier League matches a month and usually a boxing card or two, but without the boxing I see it as exorbitant for what I get from it. Appreciate I may be a minority who has no interest in cricket / Moto GP / club rugby etc which are their other selling points. But you can add me to the small bucket for whom the TNT subscription was justified by boxing.
I absolutely detest everything about DAZN's production so even though most fights will be on there I won't be resigning up
It's great that DAZN has unveiled a new UK Broadcasting team and Mike Costello is no longer a part of it. Huge improvement !
Costello might be no good but he’s streets ahead of Adam Smith and his ‘ narratives ‘. He was all over the place last night during the Hughie Fury fight cause Dave Allen kept saying that it was a stinker that needed to be stopped to save the crowd further punishment and Smith’s narrative was that Fury was still young enough to make a mark in the heavyweight division. Nice guy, horrendous commentator. I don’t need him telling me that a women’s 20 minute pillow fight is Hagler Hearns 2. It’s on DAZN, if you subscribe you’re hardly a casual.
Wow, them trustpilot reviews are quite telling indeed.. How have they got it so so wrong However Sky were pretty awful at first but Dazn been around a while now
Trustpilot is full of moans from people who want to vent. It is not a credible website. Its business model is to sell services for companies to "manage" their reviews, thereby reducing the reputational impact. They - and other sites like Tripadvisor etc - should not be taken seriously. Check the scores for other streaming services. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.skysports.com - 1.2 for Sky Sports https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/tntsports.co.uk - 1.3 for TNT Sports https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.discoveryplus.co.uk - 1.2 for Discovery+ https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.netflix.com - 1.4 for Netflix https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.virginmedia.com - 1.4 for Virgin Media DAZN deserve major criticism for things like their predatory 30 day notice period, unclear UX that sometimes traps users in a 12 month contract, etc. That said, most of what they do is very similar to TV and cable companies. My Virgin Media song and dance to avoid a huge price hike will be next month.
Carl Frampton must have have signed up to a contract term to follow the producer's script. He was great on TNT Sports analysing fights without favour and last night he turned into Adam Smith's child. Joyce was being beaten up badly apart from 2-3 rounds mid fight and Frampton's card was exactly the same as Tony Bellew's biased shyte. Clearly both men are not allowed to be honest with fight analysis.
The New Broadcasting Team is even worse than the old team. Same bias, same shyte and not even remotely interested in objective commentary or analysis. Smith and Frampton were a disgrace last night.
Frampton was great on TNT but was talking crap last night and his scorecard was horrendous. With Adam Smith it may be a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder. This below sums it up. This content is protected
Parsons cocking around speaking to the ‘punters’ and Ali Drew reading mundane tweets off her phone like it was 2013 were some bizarre production choices. Like they’d suddenly decided Saturday was the night that Warren had brought across tens of thousands of casual fans who needed things dumbing down for them, when the entire rest of the show is still pitched at your typical hardcore fan who normally watches.
