Hearn promoted Haney for a lot of his career too.

Advantage of being one of the 313 DAZN Ultimate subscribers and watching the replay is that I could just skip the showman and jester act. Hopefully they keep Conor around for Easter. Ironically, it’s all kind of falling into place for him now with Haney and Garcia moving up to welterweight, so he’ll be his “unbearable” self until someone levels him or he ends up in another testing fiasco or something.

Never been so sure of anything in boxing than Garcia flattening Benn with that left hook of his. It’s Garcia’s signature punch and Benn is so susceptible to it.

Will be interesting to see how they match him next, whether they throw him straight in big or give him a tester back at the weight. The reality is he’s a lot like Yarde in the sense that he’s never actually won at world level.

He looked impressive before the whole saga, but that was at a certain level, and he was clearly rehydrating a huge amount after the weigh-ins. It’s still unproven that he can properly make welterweight again, and he’s got no chance at light-middle with the monsters hanging around that division right now.

A Garcia or Haney fight would be huge though.

I have to be careful what I write but Devin Haney is not worth watching. Sad that Turki pays him a fortune - it's a waste of money.

...but both Eddie Hearn and Conor Benn didn´t want to answer the question of whether Devin Haney was a future opponent for Benn :)

Which is hilarious seeing as he said Haney's name last week after his fight against Eubank Jr as a possible future opponent.

Barrios, Haney, Gracia, Rolly etc, all these names will be mentioned but Hearn will probably end up wheeling Kell Brook out of retirement for Benn to feed on.

The only champion Benn & Hearn want is Barrios because he’s the weakest. He’s just drew with a 46 year old coming off a 4 year lay off ffs and should have got beat. The fight before that he drew with Abel Ramos who’s won 2 of his last 6.

That's called smart matchmaking, you'd want your promoter to be doing that for a first world title fight.

Benn is decent enough but he's not that good that he can beat everyone, if they choose the right opponent he can become a world champion.

It's bizarre how Conor isn't wanting to fight Lewis Crocker, who's also a weak champ and with Matchroom so an easy fight to make.

“I’m not really interested. There’s bigger fish to fry in my opinion. Although he’s IBF, he not really a name that’s on my radar, for me, the 10lbs rehydration… I’d rather win the WBC. For me, that’s my main goal, or a big American name, and maybe come over here [Saudi Arabia] and fight the likes of Rollys, Garcia, Barrios…”

"I want a big American name. That’s something that my dad done, that’s something I definitely want to do."

Benn moaning about rehydration clauses. Brilliant.

Bet his next fight isn’t for a world title.

With Garcia signed to fight Barrios in February, I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to entice Pacquiao over here for Conor. Manny’s always been open to big-money opportunities, and that’s exactly the kind of name Hearn would chase if he wants stadium fights for Benn.

It’ll almost certainly be some past champion rather than a live threat. I don’t even think Fast-Car would risk him with Catterall. As others have said, Kell Brook feels the most likely – they could do it at a catchweight and sell it as some sort of grudge match.

If he does fight at 147, my guess if they’ll drag someone like Barboza up from 140. Failing that someone like Jose Ramirez.
