The way I see it is they're trying to make up money from the stolen streams. There was a time that I couldn't afford even a $30 PPV. Thankfully I'm now in a position where I don't mind paying $70 dollars. Sure I would rather it be $30 or free, but it is what it is. If I think the fight is worth 70 I'll buy it, if I don't I won't watch it. Simple solution.
But these folks in Europe get to pay €20... I'm done with the fleecing of us I just paid these clowns $70 for Fury//Usyk, $30 for subscription, now they want another $70 2 weeks later.. Nuh...... Enjoy it
It seems that no matter how bad the economy is, or how much people are struggling, these companies never reduce the price of their fight shows for TV. I can't think of many other businesses that don't reduce their prices to attract new customers or because there is a decline in demand. I suppose, I should just ask you if that's even happening; Has the price for a PPV event ever been reduced or has it, in fact, stayed the same (which effectively means it has gone up because of inflation) or even been increased? Did it used to only be $50 until relatively recently or has it been 70 for as long as you can remember?
Seems like they were $49.99;since the Tyson days, then after the $100.00 Pac-May debacle, they feel they're doing us a favor at $69-$79..... It is ridiculous. I feel if we are paying the subscription cost, we should be cut a break on the ppv somehow. $39. Sure
HBO and Showtime did not require a subscription if you wanted to order a PPV. DAZN requires first you subscribe to DAZN to order the PPV.
