I dont think it will be but it was eddies example used to justify his subscription fee. As in look eubank v williams would be a sky £20 ppv...but would only be on your normal subscription if it was dazn. I think its his way of telling us...your going to get mediocre fights on dazn for your 7.99...and still gonna be paying for the big ones.
He was listing DAZN's schedule for the rest of year and only 2 fights stood out - one was Garcia v Diaz (Golden Boy) and the other has ended up on DAZN because Triller pulled the plug on Lopez v Kambosos Jr. Without them 2 the schedule is horrendous. If Golden Boy take their stable elsewhere as rumoured then DAZN's schedule will be even worse next year.
Not just DAZN. Every sub platform uses sport as a cash cow, boxing especially so. The only difference is that DAZN doesn't hold you to a 12/18/24 month contract. If you feel this way about DAZN, you should feel the same or worse about BT and Sky, and act accordingly.
They do, but DAZN launched with a product that we essentially had already as part of our Sky subs. But under the very simple marketing point "No more PPV" So we are now paying additionally for something we already had. Hearn saying "Whyte vs Wallin" would be Sky PPV. BUT if this fight was in 12 months time it 100% would have been. They just are happy to run it at a loss knowing it would be suicide to make it a PPV this soon. Next year we will be seeing Conor Benn on PPV against yet another washed up corpse
Wait, what's the point of Dazn now? What's their USP? People bought into DAZN because of the PPV level fights they were getting within the monthly price. DAZN isn't yet a service people can't live without for it to introduce PPV, people will just cancel their subscriptions. Surely the numbers tell them that no one watches literally anything besides the top fights that'll be on PPV. I must be missing something.
I didn't think he was saying that. He was making an example of the value proposition in comparison to eubank vs Williams. I took his interview as AJ will only fight on DAZN if they offer a ppv option. Anyone else it's very much up for debate.
They will filter it in over a 18nmonth period to avoid a mass withdrawal. But we will end up with anything above NxtGen on PPV
DLH could take his stable to Thriller. His absolutely crazy if he thinks thats the answer. DAZN signed with Golden Boy for Canelo. They now don't need Oscar to get Canelo fights so I could see GDP leaving DAZN as any new contract would be greatly reduced in value as Oscar doesn't have Canelo.
