The problem is that guys like Miller are just looking for that ONE big pay day and are usually successful in getting it. Then they usually lose discipline and never reach that peak again.

I used to think Whyte was similar but he has shown real grit in getting himself elevated through the rankings after that AJ loss. Miller - for now - does not strike me as having that sort of professional hunger.

Miller has been putting more and more work in(both inside and outside the ring) as he has gotten more exposure.

He is slowly climbing, and i hope you are wrong, but i think the work will stop once he hits the ceiling.

I hope I am wrong too, as the HW division needs guys like Fury, Miller etc and less PR robots like Joshua.

The most striking thing about Miller is his unwillingness to lose mass. He actually brags about how he does not need to lose weight and that being 300lbs is 'perfect' for him. It just shows a complete lack of interest in long term career professionalism and more interest in landing a big pay day before binging out on fast food and chilling wit the boys.

Its a good marketing ploy and he can actually carry that weight.
Miller gets a lot of flack for the Duhaupas fight but imo he looked brilliant that night. He moved really well, showed plenty of speed and power.
Bu the two flaws that were was that he leaned back too much and got stuck there, and his stamina. Miller definitely faded badly that night.
So the 300lbs works but i dont think it works for 12 rounds. Should do just fine in 8 or 10 round fights.

But yea, guys like Miller and Whyte are essential to the life of the division.

In fairness, if you have Beterbiev, Vargas, Miller and Andrade on your first major US DAZN fight card, not to mention Matchrooms UK stable, your off to a good start. Will be good to finally see Beterbiev and Andrade get some fights and momentum under their belts, no doubt they will be fighting regularly under matchroom/DAZN.

I agree. We need to see more of Beterbiev.

His age is not a factor for a few reasons:

He is constantly in the gym (look at his Instagram page) so rust and weight are not big issues.

He is not shop worn and has not been in any wars. He looks after himself and is very disciplined.

Even at age 33, providing he can be marketed well and fight 2-3 times a year he can get to the top of the division quickly. He also has big backers now so this is the break he was waiting for.

LHW divsion - watch out, there is a monster among you now.
