Not only is the WBSS format great, it's really cool that they're trying to feature contenders and prospects at the same division on the undercards. I otherwise wouldn't see some of these guys.

Absolutely. It builds reputation and awareness among fans, so if Matias was to fight and win again over the semi final/final phases, he might just be in contention to fight the winner of the WBSS. He has a growing reputation, I seen his fight with Prescott after watching Ryan Martin fight Prescott prepping for Josh Taylor fight.

I was impressed with Subriel Matias. Have you seen Luis Feliciano fight? Another 140 prospect. Not sure how good he is yet but he's been matched well, he's well regarded.

They were saying Flannagan had never been down in his career. So lets give him a little credit for being a tough SOB. I think Prograis could be both. Hard to tell with his lethargy though. He seemed somewhat lethargic on offense the previous fight as well before stopping that guy. If the one shot doesn't get the guy in trouble, it seems like he just goes through the motions, until he gets an opening to land the next big shot. Against better opposition those chances are few and far between, if you have a meager connect rate. Prograis jab was bull**** last night. Not sure I've seen someone short as many in a fight.

About interpretation I suppose but I thought the opposite. He wasn't committing to it, he wanted to bait Flanagan in to leading off to counter him. If Flanagan took the bait, counter him and if not he could use it to set up his own offense and generally keep Flanagan guessing. I thought in the low out-put moments of the early rounds it was Prograis jab & movement that off set Flanagan, and made him hesitant. Flanagan hadn't a clue when Prograis would probe/push the jab and when he was going to go heavier with his shots or jab. He was confused.

    Just my take though.

i like this kid, looks dead game, match him evenly with another real trooper and you get fight of the year type action. i dont think it will make him blink.

    Yigit got Lebedeved.

Hard to believe Lebedev boxed a good 5 rounds against Jones with his eye in even worse shape.

Both of them refused to quit. “What swollen eye? I’ve got another one, I can see!”

Yigit deserves credit for being honest with himself.
