I made round 1 a 10/9 for Bohacku as Ortiz was winning the round. Was this a 10/8 must score?

I think a draw would be fair but damn this was a tough one to score as they both let it all GO

I said last night it was a 9-8 round but IB schooled me....ten point must in place. So yeah, 10-9 would be reasonable and accurate.

Just finished the fight and I honestly think the 8th round KD saved Ortiz. He went ham after that and was able to slow down Bohachuk. Had they continued to box like they did in the first 7, I think Bohachuk could have edged out enough rounds to secure the win.

A well earned victory. Hopefully Bohachuk gets to keep competing at world level and isn´t simply discarded into obscurity.

Bohachuk never went down so that too deserves some credit but I still viewed the KD in round 1 as a 50/50 slip

The punch landed and then he went down, clear KD. It happened because Ortiz was out of position and didn´t have his feet settled under him. Same as the 8th round KD.

After Ortiz had been dropped in round 8 and he mounted that comeback and had Bohachuk in trouble he was repeatedly extending his left arm and open palm glove and pushing it into Bohachuk's face to blind him and measure him for the big right hands which enabled him to have Bohachuk in a spot of bother and ever so conveniently Dock allowed him to get get away with it

I heard from a good source that Ortiz' team sent 3 Vegas whores to Boha's hotel room the night before the fight so that he was robbed of strength in his legs?

Did you see the blue plastic bottle that Boha was drinking out of after the 9th round? One of Ortiz' team substituted the bottle...it had depressants in it so Boha would slow down 10th through 12th.

Robert Garcia rubbed something suspicious on Ortiz gloves; Boha was blind innthe 4th round.

    Etc. Really reaching here Sergei.

Er. except that actually happened, Franky Boy. I'm not saying it's what cost him the fight or anything but had Bobachuk been less resilient it easily could've and easily cancelled out his KD

I'm like you, I prefer to sit back relax and enjoy a fight rather than count punches. I would always score a round where a fighter scores a KD as 10-8 in their favour even if they lost the entirety of the round outside of the KD. I understand that there's no clear cut rule and that traditionally it's a 10-8 which can be made a 10-9 if he is otherwise losing a round before a KD. However personally, I feel that a KD is such a significant moment in a fight that from my perspective, the fighter that goes down should be penalised 2 points and as it's a 10 point must system then he should lose the round 10-8 even if he was winning it. It's just a personal position/stance/opinion on how I like to score. I do realise though that that way of thinking is not neccessarily advantageous in creating great fights.
