I'd argue Crawford is more well known. He does real good numbers on a bigger network. Didn't Crawford do the second highest rated Boxing event in the US in 2018?

I concur. I think they will be the next USFL. Remember them? I agree the numbers don't add up. I have been subscribed to it for several months and the fight cards, in general, have been very mediocre. The quality of the broadcasts is good; clear and no buffering. Not sure that I will continue with the service. We'll see about the supposed GGG signing. That could keep me on board.

DAZN has more then just boxing though. They have alot of other sports and soccer as well. I doubt they go under. But would they get rid of boxing? I mean im sure thier losing money but so was Netflix at one time and so is Moviepass and yet Moviepass is still around

You have to remember they are a worldwide business. They will be buying into markets with gaps in certain sporting sectors that make good entry points such as boxing in America and English premier league football in other markets it allows them to begin building a subscriber base and grow. They would expect to make losses for a number of years the same way Netflix did. Netflix launched the streaming platform in 2010 and only now has 139m subscribers. Sport in general is a worldwide concept that can be very expensive for fans if DAZN can obtain good solid content and sell it for $9.99 their model will work is subscribers join the platform. Sport is an industry that is watched by the whole world in different formats and has almost endless possibilites. In the US Netflix has 58m subs, If DAZN could generate half of that figure which would be achieveable with the right content and that would generate $289m a month and $3.5b a year. Looking at what ESPN pays for rights with those figures they could buy the NFL and MLB rights plus a number of other content such as MLS and tennis and still make a very good profit. The other selling point the have is for instance they can prop up their offer for content by saying we will also buy the rights in Japan, Brazil, Spain, Germany and Italy for example where ESPN for example are not in all of those markets. If DAZN obtain the right content and have deep pockets this time in 5 years could see a very profitable business. I am sure if they were running out of money they would not be continuously expanding and launching in new markets which costs more money.

I’d expect them to lose substantial numbers for a few years in terms of the U.S market. Boxing isn’t a big sport to begin with. If and when they make big moves with regards to the more dominant sports in the U.S, that’s when you’ll see proper subscription numbers.
