If DAZN own the rights to the GBP content and the Matchroom USA shows in their other territories they can offer boxing fans there a lot of content, together with the chance to watch local talent up against whichever UK and US fighters Matchroom want to send over. The ambition is impressive.
I think Germany is sleeping giant, if he can bring back the Klitschko days could be a big country. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him link up with K2 a lot more. Also the more regular boxing is on in those countries the more hype it builds. Similar to how he just headlined with Ritson in the UK
That's crazy. The fight is only six weeks away and they are selling tickets at over-inflated prices for an event which has, as yet, no confirmed undercard.
Same here. I'm in my 40s. Not ancient, but with 30 years of cable TV experience my default is to find a channel, not look for an app. I'll get the DAZN app on my phone because I'm pretty good at streaming from my phone to my TV. That's what I do for ESPN+. It looks like logging in from my laptop and connecting it via an HDMI will work, too. But I 100% agree the app needs to be available on as many devices as possible, especially TVs.
Japan is my top destination choice. Had a trip planned a couple of years back and ended up pushing it back. That $20 per month package sounds awesome. I didn't really think about how much I spend on boxing a year until I moved into a new home about a year ago. I was selecting my satellite TV package largely around channels that offer boxing. I figured I buy 2-3 PPV cards a year and attend another couple live cards. It is a fairly expensive sport to follow compared to most in the US.
Same page. I'm happy to say that since that post, I discovered the app was on the PS4 and downloaded it there (though I've not yet started a subscription).
Look at this madness. It's a shambles. How can you have such a list but no actual fights confirmed for the card. Do they even want to sell tickets and PPVs? I honestly think they thought they could just announce the HW fight and people would just buy the tickets no matter the price and then they could go cheap on the undercard. This content is protected
The worst thing is I think there are fighters no doubt who are sitting there waiting and hoping they get on the card. A PBC debacle again.
I live in the LA area, have heard rumors, but with nothing confirmed I'm starting to think the under card is going to be weak. I keep hearing rumors and know LSC straight told my reporter buddy he really wants to be on the card, but nothing is confirmed other than Chris Arreolla vs. TBA and that doesn't excite anybody out here. I'd be surprised if Joe Joyce isn't on the card.
I'm not sure how this will work or how it works with some of those fighters on that list. But if I was a manager of one of them or the fighter myself I'd be asking for large amounts of money, they need an undercard and a good undercard. Those fighters (depending on circumstance) are in a real position of power, it could end up costing FW/Finkel a lot of money to put on a good undercard. Hearn himself has said in interviews that when he has been desperate for fighters especially at short notice he has had to pay over the odds. Well we are 6 weeks out and still no undercard. The problem FW and Finkel will have is they have been giving it large, saying what a big fight it is, how great it will do on PPV so it will be difficult to say "we haven't got the money". The next few weeks will be interesting, I personally think this is heading for a mini disaster if the people involved are not careful.
You know why you're so upset? Because you know it's true. You're a bossy little girl upset that people don't play by your tea party rules.
