Totally agree - it's for them to show their value and if they can't then they'll fail. It'll be interesting to see how MMA moves forward with Bellator looking to make strides and recruiting the personnel to be a real competitor.
Exactly. Boxing has a large baby boomer following and a solid working class following. In other words, not the most tech savvy bunch. DAZN needs to make it easy for fans to access.
Thing is I don't give a **** about other sports besides basketball. So if you start giving me rugby, cricket, and some other garbage sports, and charge me extra, I'm outie.
When I was living in Japan I paid roughly 20 bucks a month for UFC/Boxing ppvs on one of their channels. It also provided the nba finals etc. I never had to buy American PPVs, so I'm not used to this kind of system. 360 on only boxing is a no go for me.
This is utter bollocks, on average a normal boxing fan watches 1 PPV a month, I don't know the prices in US, but the GG and Canelo II fight was 85 USD, so this is 8.5 months of DAZN... now with Canelo and AJ fighting for them and many other great boxers you have 2 boxers (AJ and Canelo) who's PPV would be 80-100 USD, these two fight every 4-6 months, they will probably try to keep their events 2 months apart. So in all probablity you will have a PPV event which includes either Canelo or Joshua every 2-3 months, thats great value if they ONLY streamed Canelo and Joshua's events, however you also have many other fantastic fighters who are marketable fightign for DAZN, I can see them increasing the price in a few years but by then the will have more boxers and even at 20 USD it would be a very good deal.
It's only been posted that it comes out of a completely different pot and doesn't effect Hearn's budget in any way about a 100 times now.
Not a fair comparison. I dont have to google " how many subscribers have Hulu or Netflix or Amazon or Sling" to say their audiencez have tens of millions more people than boxing fans. Can't ever get over $10-$20/month.

I'm not exactly the most tech savvy person in the world, but I at least know how to download apps to my TV's. I think (if I'm understanding correctly) it's only available as a smart TV app on 1 or 2 brands? They need to remedy that immediately. I'm old enough that I have an insurmountable preference of being able to easily watch live events on my television, and I can't imagine I'm alone with that. So fixing the problem with smart app TV's should be a no-brainer priority, but then there are still people who prefer watching stuff on TV that might own a television predating the newer app-driven technologies. I know there are other "solutions" with various methods for using the app on your television, but still, the mentality that "everyone watches stuff on their phones these days" isn't entirely accurate, and as you suggested, it generally becomes less and less likely the older you are.
