Yoshida flurrying inside with pinball launcher rights behind the high jab, but Metcalf is crisscrossing her legs, landing the 1-2, and laying some traps for Yoshida, lingering by the ropes and then tying up to stem the rush.

Yoshida is held at bay, trying a jab but finding Metcalf's own left knuckles prodding out to intercept, arm fully extended as Metcalf keeps tight control on the range. Metcalf uses uppercut combos with both hands to keep Yoshida honest while navigating the ropes. Yoshida grazes the neck with an overhand right as Metcalf leans aside. Yoshida switches tacks and now tries jabbing the bare midriff again. Metcalf keeps moving to her left and tossing jabs. Yoshida jumps in with a hacking flurry and gets a piece with a few shots in the clinch.

Round 4

Yoshida is changing her approach, showing the jab feint but then instead reaching up and kneading the chest and throat of Metcalf with a lead right. Lots of clinches as Yoshida pressures and Metcalf pops jabs while circling from side to side but having the ring cut off forcing her into the ropes. Metcalf's jabs pattering into the guard of Yoshida, who keeps her gloves clamped to her brow while marching on. Grazing shot for Yoshida. Big overhand right by Yoshida misses as Metcalf sidesteps.

Round 5

Yoshida is throwing shoeshines without much speed or snap on them, and probing with the up-jab but coming up short as Metcalf back-steps and pulls in her chin. Metcalf sniping with the jab, throwing occasional swatting hooks as she pivots around Yoshida. Metcalf using the right palm to catch or slap down some of Yoshida's jabs. Combo by Metcalf. Doubel jab by Metcalf.

Metcalf down, it's a push. Yoshida immediately apologizes. Time in. Hard 1-2s by Yoshida, getting more desperately aggressive to begin the second half of the contest. Metcalf fighting her off with hooks off the jab, but finding it hard to get breathing room as Yoshida stays in her chest. Body jab by Yoshida. Metcalf with a dusting of light shots behind the head as Yoshida bends forward, face parallel with the canvas, looking to torpedo the body. Harpooning rights downstairs by Yoshida versus cuffing counter left hooks by Metcalf. Very good sustained action with Metcalf almost trapped on the ropes. Grazing left on the face by Yoshida makes Metcalf blink.
