I think De La Hoya's skills would have given him fits for the first few rounds before Duran got to him. Let's remember that Tito was a beast at 147 and De La Hoya handled him pretty well. I think this fight would depend on how disciplined Oscar is, if he elects not to trade and doesn't get all machismo I could see this being a very close fight. Over 12 rounds I'd have a small flutter on De La Hoya on a very close decision. Whether he'd last the extra 3 rounds with a motivated, young Duran I couldn't be sure.

Well put, Oscar did handle Tito pretty well, im pretty sure if he would have tried that " lets skate through the 11th and 12th rounds crap " against Duran he may have gotten his ass handed to him.

Even though weve never seen it before..I believe DLH would go the distance in a 15 rounder but he would have to fight very smart.

I personally think that he would handle the 15 rounds, look at him against Vargas, he had energy to burn. Whether he would last those extra with rounds against Duran, however, would be doubtful.

For me, the odds are against DLH here, if he chooses to fight then he WILL lose but if he chooses to box he MIGHT nick a decision.

He would HAVE to box, he wouldnt have a choice, but I agree if he plays it smart the 15 rounds should be no problem for him.

No me neither, but he could potentially catch Duran with a good left hook when Duran tries to make his way onto the inside. If he could do this 5-6 times it could be an interesting fight.

Vanboxingfan..DLH's Left hook would be key in this moment.
