Some people are so, so gullible. When you tell to the world things like : "I will fight him at 160lb, no problem," said Alvarez, who fought Khan at a catch-weight of 155lb.

"Weight will not be an issue - we can even fight for no belts. I would have fought him in the ring tonight. I'm not afraid of anyone."

and : “Golovkin, make sure you answer your phone tomorrow,” said De La Hoya via ESPN.com. “We will call you. Make sure you answer your phone tomorrow.”

then who is telling the truth and who is lying ?

    Okay?

What did you people expect? I've called this exact scenario before Nelo fought Cotton for the MW belt.

Curious to see what happens if Canelo-Smith tanks at the box office, which is very possible.

I think he dropped the belt because he didn't want to give GGG a fair amount of money. So he will try to win the other title and low ball GGG and when GGG sees he is being lowballed and doesnt accept Canelo can say GGG is ducking him and that he never had plans to unify.

OK Professor, so in terms of PPV buys, does Canelo generate more demand now or before he dropped the belt?

All things being equal, no specific opponent just hypothetical opponent X.

Which Canelo achieves more PPV buys and why

Ah, now you get it! Kush and uppercut_fisted have been saying it all along. Boxing doesn't matter, only fighter purses matter.

I honestly think you speak for most of us on here re Canelo,I was a fan of his also and his come forward style is certainly not that of a coward,I do think he's been found out somewhat though in that when he has stepped up you could argue he's struggled,Mayweather loss no shame and against Lara whilst I don't feel Lara was robbed I wouldn't of argued if Lara got the decision, even the Trout fight where he clearly won he was found out.
Oscar and Canelo are gambling on the paid judges(how else does one explain Mayweather draw) and his iron chin so basically they're avoiding anyone with KO power like some of the best at 154 and those big punchers at 160 like Jacobs and obviously GGG.

Billy Joe Saunders I could see out boxing Canelo as he is a good boxer although it's true about him doing well for the first six rounds and then gasses out,he could be worse now too based on his fitness and inactiveness, obviously if Canelo loses Then GGG defo won't happen.
What bugs me though is I reckon Canelo would have the best chance of anyone right now if only he believed it himself,I reckon Canelos chin is as good as Murry and unlike Murry he can bang though I've only based this on him banging out smaller guys.

I actually wanna like Canelo but his talk and actions make it hard to want to believe him.

You may joke but you just summed up quite a few on here,I reckon some rather em play tiddlywinks and see em make smart business rather than em actually involved in a blood sport, perish the though?
