LAS VEGAS -- Oscar De La Hoya, who announced last month that he planned to fight a spring tune-up bout ahead of a planned September rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr., has finalized a deal with his opponent, former junior lightweight titlist Steve Forbes on May 3, multiple sources involved in the deal told ESPN.com on Friday.

Everybody here knows about that fight since nearly a month ago. It it was breaking news for ESPN yesterday, those guys do a pretty much shitty boxing coverage. Maybe their breaking news for today will be Calzaghe-Hops.

Isn't Forbes a natural lightweight in his prime?

Has fought in the mid-140's, but at 5' 7", with 68 inch reach, has no chance against a much bigger Oscar.

I see no point in this fight.

I'm a Mayweather fan but I think there are better fights than Dela Greedy vs. Mayweather two out there. That said, I would LOVE to see Steve Forbes totally outclass Oscar and foil this.

Steve is not a long shot in this at all. He'll have to totally outclass Oscar and make it decisive as we're all familiar with the Felix Sturm situation.

    Go Forbes..
