    Considering they are outing out maidana Lopez, matty vs Peterson and Canelo trout I think they'll be ok short term.

    It's bad enough we have alphabet belts, now we have alphabet networks throwing in their ****** wrench into potential matchups. Shame on GB. That group isn't any better than Top Rank. This is bad for boxing.

    The point is, the biggest fights happen on HBO, GBP was dumb to alienate them like they were.

    And HBO are being bitches for cutting ties with the sports future premier promoter over such stupid ****.

    I wanted to see GBP win out over Top Rank, and see Top Rank slowly fade into a 2nd tier promotional outfit (ala main events, goosen, lou, ect) but this move almost ensures Top Ranks stay as one of the sports biggest players.


    Oh well, things will be interesting to say the least. I don't think so much changes because its not like GBP and TR were co-existing before. Will be pretty much the same.

    But UFC has the mind share of the youth of today. While they don't make any money close to boxers, they are growing the sports. In the end UFC may never reach the status and wealth of boxing but what does it matter?

    Boxing mind share with the youth in America is dropping. It is probably growing in other countries (Philippines, east Euro) and steadily strong in others (Mexico, UK) but the US is an important market for the boxing industry.

    Golden Boy is going to bring boxing back to mainstream TV. CBS is the second largest broadcaster in the world behind the BBC.

    Why do they need HBO whos boxing budget was 35 million 2 years ago?:huh

    Competition isn't good for the sport?, if anything this would encourage both networks to compete against one another by making the best fights. This will encourage more promotion/attention for future stars. I don't understand why so many consider this, or anything for that matter, "bad for the sport ffs".

    it splits the sport in half.

    Thats the main issue i have. So many times you think of a good matchup, only to think, oh wait they are on rival networks/promoters.
