By this I mean he makes so much money and is so famous that he has many expectations placed on him, so when he dosen't absolutely destroy his opponents he gets all sorts of criticism. He is still a very good fighter and has a very impressive resume. I guess what I'm saying is I believe Oscar deserves at least a little more credit in this forum. Say what you will about his massive, often times annoying, fame in the boxing world, he at least fights the best and all of his losses have been to p4p fighters(with some questionable decisions, but thats another thread). Anyone else have any opinionson this, because I know JackPresscot is goint to throw his two cents in.
I give Oscar credit for 1) Willingness to fight almost anyone. No current boxer can sniff his resume. 2) Putting together good fights so far this year with GBP 3) Keeping boxing somewhat in the mainstream whenever he fights. But this **** with him saying he wants Hatton if Hatton WINS is horse****. Dude you just lost to Floyd, you fight once a year, get the **** back in line and do the right thing or retire. I would like to see him fight Zab in the spring and then go from there.
If Oscar fights Hatton, even if Hatton beats Floyd, I will lose alot of respect for him. I would like to see him fight Zab and maybe ened his career on Cotto, who I honestly think he could beat.
Like it or not.. The De La Hoya showdown is more than a championship belt for any fighter. it's like the "Dream-match" on Punchout!! you wanna get paid and make money in this business there is only one name that generates that kind of scrilla and hs name is The Golden Boy. Hatton if he win's should and will jump at the idea in a minute. Name recongnition boy's, Mayweather ain't enough.
