I hear the fans of certain fighter complaining about their hero being forced to fight at 155 pounds for a WBC belt, neglecting the fact that a far more accomplished Middleweight in Bernard Hopkins had no issues when the demand arose during his negotiation with De la Hoya camp for the 2004 fight.

This is the same guy that was willing to slim down to 154 to fight Mayweather, and was willing to jump to 168 to fight Chavez Jr.

The fighter doesn't matter. I will always stand by my opinion that a belt should be fought at the weight limit that the belt belongs to.

Yep I forgot about that. But GGG is too special to have to do something like that. He can't leave his precious 160 after all, he just wants to unify and make history.

Do two wrongs make a right? De La Hoya can hold his head up high as probably having the biggest cajones of the era.

    But draining Hopkins was shady.

Here we go with this holier than thou stance. More proven fighters can be made to jump through hoops by the bigger draw but GGG doesn't have to he's different.

I hate the, "Well he did, so it's okay for him to do it," ideology. No fighter should set a precedent for making lame, unfair CW acceptable. It's wrong. Idc who did, when it happened, it's still wrong.

Nobody has to "do" anything in boxing as far opponent selection. It takes two to sign a contract.
