please don't talk about boxing knowledge here, we all know you bet on hatton giving pac a beating, that's what all your boxing knowledge amounts to lol
Oh god, please floyd, fight Manny, don't waste a young talent like Amir, he is still green for you. Pac has been forced to make a fight with old Mosley because Floyd is nowhere in sight and supposedly too busy with his legal problems. then next thing we'll find out is he'll be making a fight with Amir, that is BS of the highest order
There's gonna be a lot of suicidal pacquiao fans fights post fight if floyd and manny ever get in the ring.
Oscar - "I was competitive against the best fighter the world has ever seen". or "I was made to quit on my stool and punched the hell out of me". Chose his own medicine. Of course he would say that, aside from the fact that he was always an *******.
Yep, people will be dying of disbelief that a ducker and a coward finally found his URGE. Now go back to your original handle, alt.
1. Marquez had enough power to keep Pacquiao honest when Pacquiao was weighing in at 126 and 130. People keep thinking Pacquiao is physically the same but he is 10 pounds bigger than he was back then. Marquez was an extremely powerful featherweight which is why he was able to keep the featherweight version of Pacquiao honest. I agree Floyd would be able to keep Pacquiao honest because he is an average sized WW fighting a super lightweight, but it wouldn't be easy and he would definately have to put his hands at risk. 2. Pac can get his punches off faster than Mayweather. He will stay outside of Mayweather's quick punches and will explode in bursts. He will definately lay some leather on Floyd but I think that where he will have a hard time is getting back outside. 3. Pac has the right type of offense to break through Mayweather's defense. Mayweather has issues with punches that come high and up the middle, especially from his right. He leans way to the left and give up his offense. Also Pac's right hook to the body which is almost perfect is just the right punch to get Mayweather to expose himself a little bit more for that straight left. People shouldn't confuse Marquez' defense with Floyd's. Floyd has a better overall defense but Marquez has an extremely good defense. But he has a weakness to the left hook. Recently we saw a shot Barrera tagged him JMM with many left hooks and so did Juan Diaz even when Marquez was on the defensive. Fighting out of a southpaw stance means Pacquiao really has to open himself up to attack Marquez from that angle. Floyd handles left hooks easily but his defense is less well adapted to the straight left. 4. Pac isn't open for a right uppercut counter when he moves in. The way Pac throws his flurries means that if someone tries to counter him with the right he will get tagged with a left first. You gotta counter him in combinations which is not something Floyd is very good at. But I agree that at WW Floyd can use his size to maneuver Pacquiao around the ring, push him against the ropes, clinch him, and push him back enough to tire him out. Then he can take advatage of Manny slowing down in the later rounds. Also he has a good lead right which can trouble Manny but if wasn't for Floyd's weight advantage Pac would welcome that staight right to get his shots off and Floyd would really be in trouble. At 147 I call this fight 50/50 but if Pac can get Floyd to come down to 143/144 I think Pac handles him. ---- that was copy/pasted from a post of mine before Pac vs Cotto. today I'd have to re-evaluate but it's still similar. I'd edge Pac even at 147
for Floyd to 'push' manny around and use his size means he has to stay in the line of fire, and Floyd can't take that kind of heat from Manny. No way he bullies Pacquiao around ,or he gets KO'd by the mid rounds. His best bet is to stay on the outside and use his reach, but Floyd only throws pot shots and his defense isn't the same against a southpaw. Add to the fact that Floyd is even less busy these days, he's slowed down. He not the same guy he used to be . Manny is too much for him imo., can't see it any other way.
